Sapphire Blue - Diamine

Sapphire Blue was one of my first Diamine inks and I still believe it to be one of their best creations in terms of behaviour. This ink is well behaved. Always. In all pens I've ever filled with it. On every paper I've tried. In past I had some issues with other Diamine inks but never with this one. It is a very standard looking medium blue with a hint of purple. There are other similar colors such as Waterman Florida Blue, J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir and Quink Washable Blue. Personally I prefer J. Herbin EdS but Sapphire Blue shouldn't disappoint anyone looking for standard / almost standard blue with increased saturation and some purple accents. It won't feather. It won't cause bleedthrough. The flow is great and the ink lubricates the nib in pleasant way. Drying time is average.

Thank you for this review! Diamine Sapphire Blue is one of my favorite blue inks. It should be noted that this ink is not waterproof but it has a nice degree of water resistance:

Thanks for the review. I'm a big fan of J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir. After seeing your review, I'm going to try Diamine Sapphire Blue.

It's interesting that it appears to be bluer in the written exemplars than in the images of the splatter and the drop on a paper towel,

It would be interesting to see this in a side-by-side with Eclat de Saphir. And also with Lamy Blue (which dries a bit slower than I would like, but which seems well behaved -- and with some water resistance -- otherwise).

How is this ink's behavior on cheap paper? And if you have both, how does it compare to Iroshizuku Ajisai? I'm in love with the color of Ajisai but its behavior on cheap paper is so disappointing. This looks like it could possibly be similar.
