Here you go, it's not easy capturing the luscious navy . . .

Gorgeous. That’s the piston filler I assume? I’m going to have to ask you to stop. I don’t have the AL version. Thank goodness they made the Titan a a cartridge pen!

@Cjtamu Yes, it's the piston filler. I already had the black AL piston, but I had to have the navy given that navy's my favourite colour in general. I also love how the gold furnishings compliment the navy, which doesn't come across in the photo.

Have seen enough stock photos of the navy to appreciate the gold trim. Had Kirk not been out of stock a few weeks ago when I was purchasing another pen from him I’d probably own one already. Really is beautiful. That’s why I need you to stop showing it ha ha ha! I bought the olivine AL for Kim not long ago. Non-piston but a really striking pen. I’m trying to get her to sign up and join the fun here. She has some wonderful pens of her own, and many are models that I don’t have. So, y’all are only seeing half of what’s in the house LOL.

I've been on the fence about the navy since it was released; I've probably had it in and out of a shopping cart five or six times. I'm not sure why -- I think it's because I didn't want to jump on the first non-black color they offered without waiting to see what else they might do. (In other words, it had little to do with the pen and a lot to do with my struggle to keep my accumulation under control.) But I did just order one of the shadow green lunar sports, because pearlescent green and/or green stripes seem to be one of my twenty or thirty weaknesses.

Just do it.  I got the Navy last week and it’s so nice with the gold accents.  Upgraded from the black plastic piston sport and I’m glad I did.

I love my little black Sport piston. Filled it with Diamine Ancient Copper and it’s the best writer of our Kaweco. Not sure if I just got a particularly good nib or if it’s the piston vs converter difference. Probably need to get a navy Al piston filler to determine 😁

Pen of denablers, that's what this is. 🙂 Thanks for your encouragement. Maybe I can overcome my psychic resistance by thinking of it as a way to get over the free shipping threshold with my next ink purchase. 🙄

It's good having a complete collection of Hemingway's short stories, yes.

Following up on this: if you're considering the shadow green, I recommend seeing it in person before you buy. Mine arrived today and it  (literally) pales in comparison to the stock photos; I'd describe it as a muted medium-olive green with very little pearlesence; held and rotated in daylight, it shows some depth, but held in the hand at a desk under artificial light, I find it blah and am returning it.

Only pic I’m posting today. This was the original reason for going to Dromgoole’s today. Kim was so excited when she saw a write up on the London version of the event. Was over the moon when I asked if she wanted to go in and get an early birthday present. The trip evolved and turned into even more fun than we were expecting. More tomorrow.

This will take a minute. Went to Dromgoole’s yesterday so Kim could do the Kaweco DIY. Went to the little French bakery on the corner first, and while we were sitting Kim noticed a lavender camera bag one of the young girls sitting next to us. I ran inside for a couple minutes and by the time I got back to the patio Kim and the girls were engaged in conversation. Apparently instigated by a rogue pigeon, but that’s a different part of the story. Turns out they were in town from Austin for the rodeo. Talked for a bit, recommended a friend’s restaurant up the street. They mentioned they’d hear there was a large Asian retail development in Katy and when I told them we were headed there later to get some Yamamoto paper from the Kinokuniya store they got excited. Then we told them about Dromgoole’s and why we were in the Village. They ended up following us there and Kim took over. Demoed a bunch of Kaweco nibs and Kim and one of the girls built the DIY glow in the dark Kaweco while the other girl picked a light blue. We had a great time, two of the sweetest girls you’d ever hope to meet, and I think two burgeoning pen addicts now thanks to Kim. They were running late to meet their friends at rodeo so Kim bought their pens and some ink and they left, but continued to text Kim all night. Including some pics of them taking advantage of the homemade Sangria at our friends’ restaurant, so it will be a fun story to tell next time we’re there. Just one of those unexpected fun things that happens to you, made for a great day. Didn’t make it to Kinokuniya but that’s ok, it’s not far from my office.

Ha ha ha. So, the ATX motto for many years has been, “Keep Austin Weird”. These girls apparently not big fans of the concept so they and Kim had some running joke going on about it. Missed it, I was busy perusing…well, you’ll see.

@Cjtamu what a great time you described. So cool! I’m glad you and Kim talked to the girls. Such a pity the ladies missed out on the Retro 51 Sprinkle Ops. It’s more expensive though, but a fun pen exclusive to Dromgoole’s. I’m glad they all got Kaweco pens. I’m a fan of them. That’s a day to remember for a very long time.

My Kaweco x Moleskine collection. All have fine nibs. And the gold printed/ stamped lettering was removed with gentle polishing. The embossed Kaweco Germany, as is usual on the Perkeo, remains - nice and subtle.

Will work for pens...

Kaweco Al Sport piston filler. Decided to go with black so my plastic one and Al match. This one is EF nib rather than F. Didn’t post pics yesterday because this one was a little cranky at first and I wasn’t sure it was staying. Better now other than slight hard start after sitting but the nib is excellent. Inked with Private Reserve DC Electric Blue. I believe the piston pens have slightly better ink flow than the cartridge Sport.
