Resent. It looks like the problem might have been my replying directly using the order update e-mail sent by ASA? Which seems to be a different address to the e-mail addresses listed on your website? This is confusing

Order placed. Bluish green ebonite, JoWo Chrome Fine nib, Ball-end clip.

I am looking forward to it! Based on the previous posts, I agree that the engraving and branding should be subtle. Steve's format for brand engraving is the most sound.

Dear All,

Greetings!

It gives me immense pleasure in letting you know that the “ASA Nauka”, has got an overwhelming response.

The first phase saw some unprecedented ordering and I thank each one of you.

The Shipping was to start from 31st October’2015 (tomorrow), for first phase orders. Though we have worked very hard all these days to ensure that we ship it on time, because of sheer volumes and the fact that each pen is hand-made individually and its unique design is requiring care and precision, has been a challenge.

Although, I assure you that we are at a near completion production stage of the pens. It will take another 10 days before we ship the pens.

I request your kind co-operation and understanding and allow us this extra lead time, so that we can send you the pen well finished and tested, which I intend with Nauka.

I will update each of you with the production pictures as we progress now. I will share first set of such pictures soon.

I sincerely regret this and request your full co-operation for this delay.

Please do email to me at unik.services@hotmail.com, in case of any queries in this regard.

Shipment delayed for 10 days due to high volume of orders. Now who ordered all those pens? Hands up! Aahhh, it because of you all...

The anticipation kills me soon, but I rather wait and get something good than a rushed job to meet some deadline.

The fact there was a timely update is also highly appreciated, some companies should learn from that!

I cannot blame Mr. Subramaniam, the entire Nauka Group buy has been carried out in the biggest festive season of India. In a span of some 30 days Hindus celebrate 2 of their biggest festivals. Add to that 10 - 12 more festivals which are to be observed if not celebrated. Most of India is on an unofficial vacation inspite of one's religion. The fact that they are commited to making pen and sorry for the delay, for me is worth praising. Take all the time ASA pens.

Regards,

Pratik

Thanks for letting us know Mr. Subramaniam. Delays can happen, it's good to know if things are going to be held up.

No problem as one can understand that it is impossible to increase infrastructure and specialised labour to meet the peak demand. It was known to everyone that pens were yet to be manufactured. So It is acceptable IMO. It is better that you have informed the fact. Posting updates in future like date of order upto which pens are shipped regularly will also help. Generally people are panicked only if no communication is made.

Ps.- I recently requested Mr. Subramanian to process my order of couple of I can so that it will reach before 9th November. He was so prompt that he shipped it same day and reached to me next day more than 1000 kms away from Chennai, that too without any extra cost. Cannot expect better service than this.

I'm placing my order at the ASA pens website, but they are requesting a coupon code. I'm a registered user but have not seen the coupon code in this thread. Can anyone tell me where that is?

The group buy closed yesterday (october 31st) so you may not be able to buy one anymore. They had already extended the group buy, and it ran for a very long time.

Better luck with the next one!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
