I came to Ryan Krusac's table.

... and the rest is history! Congratulations on your pen, it's a beaut. Ryan is a person I had spoken to at many pen shows, always learning something about him and his pens, and a couple years ago said "you know, you actually need to get one from him instead of just talking". Went home with a Legend in buckeye burl, and it is always on the desk, ready to go. He is one of the really great people in the pen-making community. Again, congrats.

This is an L16 sized Legend with a broad nib. It's a very large pen, but so light. Well balanced and GORGEOUS. I could have bought several other pens, but my eyes and hands just kept coming back to this pen.

That’s a very very nice pen. Congratulations.

How funny...I just emailed him a custom order for an L15 Legend in Buckeye Burl last night!

I'd love to see a pic of yours. Ryan said they develop a beautiful patina over time.

Boy, I just checked and I don't have any good photos of the pen. In fact, I only found one, and it was a quick-and-dirty "what's on your desk" thread response. Oh well, I'll try to get a nice capture later this week. The pen has a lot of variation in the grain/pattern, such a nice difference in my lineup.

Interesting looking paper holder you have there. It reminds me of the unusual one I had at one point in grammar school that held loose leaf paper that had holes at the top instead of at the side. Unfortunately, the teacher couldn't deal with non-uniformity, all other students used loose leaf paper that had the holes on the side, and I had to stop using it 😞 .

That is so sad.  I think I resonate to your experience.

You are a better person than me; I would have continued to use the paper and employed a three-hole punch to make it "standard".  Unless you went to school in Japan, in which case you were correct to defer.  Sorry.

Wow, that's really nice. I love how "swirly" it is!

I took advantage of the 15% discount from LCDC last night to order this Opus 88. I went back and forth between this one and the demonstrator for about 5 minutes, but as I'm not familiar with the brand, other than @mizgeorge's recommendation, I opted for the cheaper of the two. If I like it, I may very well get the demonstrator next.

@Bikerchick I have this version.  It's been continously inked for 3+ years; sporting a 14k, semi-flex from Pablo at FPnibs.  Currently enjoying Diamine Prussian Blue.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Standard in England would have been a two-hole punch, of which there were two varieties, one with the holes about 1 cm apart than the other!

Sounds lovely, but isn't that nib like three times the price of the pen? :)

Yup!  And, in my view/experience,  worth every penny.

I can see the images in @Bikerchick's posts on this page.

It's the Opus 88 Koloro in blue (translucent blue acrylic body with blue ebonite accents).

The last pen acquisition was the MB Egyptomania, with double broad nib.
It was long time at my wish list...

The scarab on that nib is truly a thing of beauty. To lavish that much skill and workmanship on what is essentially a practical object screams luxury to me. Pausing in my writing every few seconds to gaze at the nib would, however, interrupt my flow of thought too much, so this is not going on my wish list. Sad.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
