Landscape Notebooks

Im' looking for a notebook that would be wider that taller with the binding on the side. I prefer dot grid, Japanese grid and blanks.

I've look at Rhodia and Moleskine with their watercolor paper and their reporter notebooks.

I there any notebook you would recommend?

You may need to create your own. Have you thought about using something like Levenger's Circa?

I didn't know about Levenger's Circa. They are beautiful (a little expensive, but not too much).

I will definitely get some of these.

Take a Rhodia Dot grid and rotate 90 degrees to your left. B)

Thanks for the tip Cyber6, but I can't get passed having the logo in the wring orientation. Even worst, the flap would be on the top which is bad because I wouldn't have the long 2 page spread I'm looking for.

How about this new Rhodia Landscape (web)notebook?

Forgot to mention - believe these can be special ordered thru the Goulets if you can't find them at your local Rhodia resource.

You could also take a small sketchbook/pad and rotate it 90 degrees. I do, every once in a while when the landscape notebook bug bites me. Pages will be blank. You can get all sorts of paper in these, so test for fp-friendliness. Good luck!

Believe Staples has the rings similar to Levenger but less expensive. Do some searching maybe this forum for older discussions, pros cons, how to for these ring systems.

A long sketchbook might be ok but have to be careful of the paper. Maybe designed for watercolors or ? And suck up or feather your ink. Think there is a forum for drawing with ink and a peek there might offer you some ideas of papers and books.

The large size Moleskine Watercolour Album (5 x 8.25 inches) is my favourite sketchbook for carrying around with a portable watercolour set. You can write in it, too, of course, but bear in mind that this is watercolour paper, which has to be very thick (200g) to take heavy washes without crinkling. There are 36 sheets of paper in the album (= 72 pages). The paper is textured.

If you mainly want a notebook for writing in, the Rhodia Landscape Webnotebook would probably be better.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
