Macro, Lcd Screens, Black Backdrop And Nibs

I was messing around yesterday, using my phone and tablet's LCD screens for lighting. I put a white image on them and used a black hoodie as a backdrop. The screens were the only sources of light. The original images were 14MP, but they were resized to fit this post. I have no clue about photography, and would appreciate some advice and feedback.

Doesn't look to me as if you need much help, those are beautiful pictures. If you were looking for clear, unshadowed nibs you may want to have a broader source of brighter light, well diffused.

Just buy a couple of pieces of white foam core, 16x20 inches or so and prop lthem up with books (or other heavy objects) and bounce a light source such as a desk lamp into them. Cheap broad light source.
