Manufacturers since 1864, Diamine Inks relocated to this purpose built 'state of the art' factory in Liverpool in 1925, where they successfully carried on using the traditional methods and formulas for ink production. Over the years the company has changed hands and are now located close to the world famous Aintree Race Course

Diamine offers interesting ink gift sets. The idea is nice but I'm not interested in full lines of inks, rather in colors I enjoy. That's why I'm pleased to say Diamine will offer all of their inks also in 30 ml plastic bottles. A friend of mine send me the samples of Music Set inks. I'll review them here.

  2. Beethoven
  3. Chopin
  4. Handel
  5. Mozart

handel is interesting ink - the color is quite complex and the way we see it depends on thew light: in artificial light it appears almost brown or salmomn like (depending on the light you use() and in daylight it looks violet though it has some greenish accents to it (on the edges of letters).

Sheen?

I used 6500 K degrees lamp, so the color is different than on scan.

Its a really beautiful one, also its really close to my favorite Imperial Purple, except some sheen, which is visible on your last photo.

Great review! Very thorough and the context of the music really adds to the enjoyment of the ink. Excellent job!

Apart from my review of the set when it came out, I've only used the Tchaikovsky on any regular basis. I must return to the others one day and the Handel does seem rather tasty.

I bought a 30ml refill of Tchaikovsky, and I think it's great, but I wish I had the original type of glass bottle to keep it in as I really don't like Diamine 30ml plastic bottles.

I also really like this Handel shade too. It may be a bit like Mb Lavender Purple

Your reviews are so excellent. Thank you. I'm not a huge purple fan, but I really like that green sheen.

@Davros - it is depending on the light. If I would make Handel photos throughout the day in sunlight and then in artificial light, I could opst them as reviews of different colors. This one is odd when it comes to defining the color.

I liked it enough to grab a refill, but haven't used it in quite some time. Maybe it is time to grab it again.

Are you going to be doing any of the Flower set?

Thank you for sharing this review!

Handel is one ink I have been adoring from afar. I don't want the entire music set, but Handel would be a perfect addition to my ink collection.

Yummy

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

My current favourite ink in the purple/lavender/burgundy range. Great shading. Thanks for the reviews of the music collection!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
