Manufacturers since 1864, Diamine Inks relocated to this purpose built 'state of the art' factory in Liverpool in 1925, where they successfully carried on using the traditional methods and formulas for ink production. Over the years the company has changed hands and are now located close to the world famous Aintree Race Course

As I've mentioned few times I have mixed feelings about Diamine inks, however I tend to use them from time to time. They have some amazing colors. Last year Diamine inks introduced their 150th anniversary inks in triangle bottles:

There are eight colors in this series of inks:

  1. Blue Black
  2. Blue Velvet
  3. Carnival
  4. Regency Blue
  5. Safari
  6. Silver Fox
  7. Terracota
  8. Tropical Green

Regency Blue is quite nice, not the color I would often use but I appreciate its depth / intensity.

it looks as dark as Cult Pens Deep Dark Blue but more purple?

Beautiful deep dark blue. I am currently using Chesterfield inks--kind of a rebrand Diamine. Of the Chesterfield blues I have: Antique Yankee & Xircon. This blue is stunning, and would add something to my blue inks. Excellent review. Thanks so much.

I really want to try this ink, but after the experience I had with Sargasso Sea... I'm really hesitant. How easy is this to clean? Does it still smear when dry (or when the slightest bit of moisture touches it)?

Great review of an interesting ink. Can anyone provide a comparison with Sargasso and Midnight?

Thanks, captain. So Regency looks like a darker version of Sargasso. Interesting, even more than Velvet.

I reckon that's about the size of it. And the 1864 Blue-Black is the darkest of them all!

Yours looks darker than other reviews.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Does anyone has it, and can tell more about behavior?

Is Regency Blue well behaved or problematic in fountain pens? :)

I find it extremely well behaved. Of the 150th anniversary inks both of my favourites are the blue inks.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
