Here's what it looks like in today's pens

I think I need to get this ink. My husband would probably really like the color. Yes, it is completely selfless, lol jk ;)

I am still trying to "convince" him to use fountain pens. I think the maintenance isn't appealing to him. He loves the Pilot G2 pens. But If I could get just the right combination of pen, nib, ink and paper, I am sure I could convert him.....hopefully...eventually....maybe? lol :D

After writing with it today, I realized that it's very close to, but a little bit richer than, the blue of BIC stick ball point pen blue ink. But looks better because it's not all gloopy and spotty. It's similar to that nice, "blue" blue.

 

it also behaves quite nicely in both of my nice old pens on a couple of different kinds of paper. (Black n' Red, smooth HP Premium Laser, and the rougher textured Discovery copy paper)

I love this ink. Without a doubt, my favorite anniversary ink.

I think I'm with you. I've really enjoyed this one.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The more I use it, the more I like it. I'm particularly liking it in old, black Sheaffers. Seems to just fit.

I like this ink, too. It's a little lighter than, but similar to, another favorite of mine, Private Reserve Electric DC Blue.

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

Looks great. Does it really look velvety? I've always thought Red Dragon had a velvety look to it, which I love. I don't know how else to describe it. I've been looking for a blue with similar look.

Poured mine out the other day. Down the drain. Bleed through and feathering yikes. So many other inks to love.

I don't recall that feathering or bleed through are unusual for this ink when compared to other highly saturated inks. Perhaps your bottle was over-concentrated. Generally, if I have an ink that shows bleed through, feathering, or long dry times, I conclude that it's just too saturated and try adding some distilled water to a couple of ml in a sample vial. Sometimes you have to add so much water to make it behave well that the ink loses any special character it might have had, and sometimes it loses too much lubricity. So it's not a cure-all, or anything, but sometimes the ink is just fixed. Sometimes I think we've developed such a taste for highly saturated inks that it's like eating condensed soup without adding water.

I grabbed a bottle of this in the last Massdrop of it. Just a random pick a second bottle kind of thing. I haven't opened it yet but now looking forward to it. It really looks close to PPS.

I use this ink daily in a Sailor 1911 medium nib, and yes, when dry, it has a red-to-burgundy glint when the writing is looked at from an angle. Feel very comfortable using it to sign most letters and legal documents.

I love the color, but it's quiet wet when it hits the page, so bleed through can be a real problem if the paper isn't up to snuff. It is the first ink that caused bleed through on cheap paper from college handouts with my Platinum 3776 F nib. I'm not used to that with the Platinum. It's always been one of my "safe" pens for jotting down the occasional note on a handout. A good thing I found out when I was taking notes, and not for a test that was printed on both sides of the page!

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
