Inky T O D - Color Swatches - Orange - Please Post Your Pictures And Tell Us Your Thoughts

I think it counts! I'd consider it as brown too. Looks like the kind of colour of Diamine Copper Orange, Terracotta:..

I'm never sure with these colours. :D I think it's less saturated than, or not as bright as, Ancient Copper, so probably like Terracotta, but I don't have that one.

I was once a bottle of ink, Inky Dinky Thinky Inky, Blacky Minky Bottle of Ink!

Oh my! Another yellow/orange ink I NEED! Helianthus (sunflower!). Gorgeous stuff! It is now on our wishlist, and will hopefully end up in the cart in short order :-).

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Exactly. If you want to do a comparison letter, send me your address and I'll mail you a sheet with the handwriting. (That's a CRV in case you are interested.)

I am having problems posting today, so I may have to apologize for a dreaded double post———

I, too, am a great fan of Sailor Honey / Hatchimitsu ink! And you're exactly right: it does come out very orange in real life, but I guess it all depends on the pen and paper, right?

Oh, and did you mention the amazing silvery SHEEN?! ;)

I haven't gotten it to sheen. I do love the color.

For those who are thinking about Halloween-themed inks, here are my favorites. From bright to dark:

1. J. Herbin: Orange Indien

2. Pilot Iroshizuku: Yu-yake

3. Tekker Ink: "Chasqui"

4. MIX: Diamine Pumpkin and Noodler's Cayenne [Cayenne, like most Noodler inks, has an unacceptably long dry time, so I mixed it with Diamine Pumpkin which lightened it, but also made it dry like a normal ink]

I don't know if it's orange or brown. Thank you, LGSoltek for the great comparison. I'll be inking up with Monarch soon.

I see you also have Peach Haze. What do you think of it? I just bought a bottle, and I just don't know what to think. I'm going to have to give it a good workout, but my first impression is somewhat indifferent...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
