bestinnyc - Happiness is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper boring. I would not spend money on that one. Honey is the orange I love, but it's really similar to Kin-mokusei and Apricot. There's a slight difference, but not really worth the price difference from Apricot (in my opinion), which sam_capote showed was basically the same as Kin-mokusei. The other OI orange is very sunsety, kind of dusky but still really interesting. I'll try to get a writing sample of that one next, but I've got all my carry pens filled with SankoDo inks right now.

This is so helpful as usual! My budget and I both thank you I am happy to hear that the other blue is boring and that Honey is similar to Apricot - I love Apricot but I don't use it often enough to get another ink that is close to it. The sunsety orange sounds interesting, so I will wait for your writing sample to decide on that one. Thank you again for all of your advice and help in building my Sailor collection!

So I could not but share... Last night I was pulling an all-nighter (feeling a little cranky) and at 3 am I decided to clean my pen and ink up Bung Box 4B for the first time (I had previously only dip tested it) and all I can say is WOW! These inks may be expensive but honestly they are so worth it. (I got so high on this ink that it took me back to childhood and I started writing Disney lyrics ) Here are two photos (shot under my kitchen spotlight to show off the sheen) for anyone who may be thinking of putting in an order. (I should add that my pen is extremely wet and has a flexi nib, so sheen is always heightened.)

PS I loved using 4B so much and I had been staring at the writing samples that Saskia posted of that gorgeous SankoDo Black Purple that I figured with the time difference why not get in touch with Atsu to put in an order for a bottle of that one too I cannot wait for it to arrive!

those really ARE cute journals, migo! And bestinnyc - isn't 4B amazing??? I absolutely love it. I'm really glad to see these awesome Sailor inks spreading around.

 

I just ordered 2 backups of the SankoDo purple, and one of the Osu red. I also snagged Canal Brown, blue-gray, gray, sepia, and one of the ozone blue (it's back in stock!).

 

I found questionable substances in my two pinks from Onago-iro, so I'll probably grab back ups of the OI and some new pinks in my next order. Then I get to pick another set of exclusives to try afresh!

It looks like the perfect shade of purple in Saskia_Madding's photos! Have you tried any other Sailors recently that you really liked?

Amazing is just the word for it! There is something about its dark blue blackish tealish color combined with that abundant pinkish sheen that you can't help but get lost in. Plus the ink feels wonderful under the nib so it really is amazing! I know now that when you write that you love an ink in your review or you order back up bottles it means I definitely need to get in touch with Atsu asap

 

I would love to hear what you think of the grey and the ozone blue. I'm still searching for the perfect grey -- I can picture it in my head but for some reason I can't seem to find it. Which exclusives do you think you will try next?
