Chrissy, check out post #21, I think both inks have A1 on the bottle. (Of course it's late and I'm tired so I could be mistaken).

Yes, on close inspection, it looks like they both do. :(

 

So the only way to establish a 1st version bottle might be the thick 'waxy' layer underneath, or the fact that it was purchased before version 2 was released. :unsure:

I just tried version two after years and I was really pleased. It was sheenier than I had heard and I loved the color.
