A Few Ghosts....

Okay, Mookli, what exactly is *in* that cup (both the contents and the "stir sticks")?

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

I am sorry to disappoint but it's just clip-art pens and coffee filtered to be blue.

I tried to use a Vac-700 but the perspective wasn't working.

I could of set up a photo shoot, but I was lazy :)

If I haven't said it before - I love this thread.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The size limit is less than 100 kb. I don't have gimp on this computer. I was using preview.

If you can mount a USB drive on it, you can have a whooole lotta apps on it, using the portapps.com platform. I carry around my favorite office suite (LibreOffice), AbiWord (in case LibreOffice is too heavy), the GIMP, nethack, PuTTY, two or three variant web browsers, Inkscape, an IRC client, VLC, Foxit PDF, a couple of archiving utilities, Pidgin multiple IM client, KeePass, Speedcrunch, and notepad++, all on a 4gb thumb drive, with 2gb left over.

Although far and away from the subject of fountain pens, I thought this was quite interesting video about the psychology of Pacman's ghosts and their methods of ambush

Unrelated but I of course, watched the video. Is it just me or does that guy not have lenses in his glasses? And also, does that bug anyone else or is it just me?

lol or the clearest lenses I've ever seen. I keep on seeing Moss from the IT Crowd (minus afro). He didn't seem to have lenses either. Boy I miss that programme!

The glassless glasses were distracting.

Meanwhile... YES, this is Inky:

Inky: The light-blue ghost is nicknamed “Inky” and his character is described as one who is bashful. In Japan, he is portrayed as kimagure, meaning “a fickle, moody, or uneven temper”. Perhaps not surprisingly, Inky is the least predictable of the ghosts. Sometimes he chases Pac-Man aggressively like Blinky; other times he jumps ahead of Pac-Man as Pinky would. He might even wander off like Clyde on occasion! In fact, Inky may be the most dangerous ghost of all due to his erratic behavior. Bashful is not a very good translation of kimagure, and misleads the player to assume Inky will shy away from Pac-Man when he gets close which is not always the case.

Thank you Jamey Pittman

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
