If you order from Cult Pens look at their Deep Dark inks, they're made by Diamine and are exclusive to Cult Pens. The Deep Dark Blue is a really nice ink. Oxblood, Red Dragon and Ancient Copper are well worth looking at too.

My personal faves are Red Dragon, Syrah, Ancient Copper and Blue Black. I also have Pumpkin, which is quite nice, it just doesn't get a lot of use right now.

First you go look at Cybaea's amazing comparison. Clearly I need to put a link to that in a convenient place.

Then, choose your colors.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Yes! I couldn't tell you how many times I've gone back to this. Incredible.

Mine are:

Ancient Copper (my favorite ink of any I've ever tried and the one that I use most often. I even bought an Edison Nouveau Premiere w/ a Binder nib to match it)

Bilberry

Sherwood Green

Damson

:-)

To pick some others than the blues and blacks:

Ancient Copper - best selling ink, great shading, great colour.

Red Dragon - makes every pen a lovely writer, looks great: dark enough for work use, bright enough for edits, red enough for personal notes.

Blaze Orange - makes me happy every time I use it with the colour and the amazing shading.

Havasu Turquoise - but only if you write on top-quality paper or bleed-through is uncontrolled! But that shading...oh that shading.

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

Thanks for the heads up guys! I'm a student so I won't need to worry about work and my teachers don't question some of the rather flamboyant inks I have used on essays in the past. Ancient copper looks gorgeous

My four of the best:

Ancient Copper, there's a reason it appears in so many lists.

Salamander, the more you use it the more you love it. Still not sure exactly which colour it is!

Majestic Blue, sheen!

Huvasu Turquoise, shading!

:D Diamine is prob. my favorite ink company

1. Red Dragon **Must have, there is no better red

2. Damson (perfect purple for everyday use - even in the office)

3. Midnight (when black HAS to be used...but you subtly retaliate by using a black with purplish undertone)

4. Bilberry (deep purplish blue)

As you might have guessed: I am a purple man

Denim

Eclipse

Emerald

Presidential Blue (but it's fairly dry)

Damson (but it's very dry)

I have some other Diamine inks but of the ones I might recommend they're either ones I haven't tried (Matador and Onyx Black) or ones I haven't made up my mind about (Merlot, Salamander).

I didn't include the Flower Collection inks, because they're a set (and fairly pricy). I haven't tried all of them, but I rather liked Aster, Carnation and Cornflower, and kinda liked Burgundy Rose.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

My first order wasn't nearly enough selections, but I did get:

Oxblood - everyone's favorite

Syrah - up and coming fave

Onyx black - the darkest black I think

Teal - well, I just like that color

Chocolate Brown - not speaking to me yet

Evergreen - nice greyish green

Green Black - I don't know why???? :(

Grape - my first bottle,

I am now looking for:

Ancient copper - the new favorite ink to get

Asa or Turquoise

Salamander

Red Dragon

a Kon-Peki look alike

a Yama-Budo look alike

and maybe Lavender

Another vote for Twillight. Very nice modest dark teal with a hint of blue so also to be used for formal writing. Not dry and good lubrication with a very nice schade. It makes pages very readable, even better then blue black.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
