Price For Lamy 2000?

Hello

Recently I've been looking at buying a Lamy 2000 as my first FP over ~£25.

I'd like a pen that just writes well, looks nice and is fairly robust.

I narrowed it down to a 2000 or a Pelikan M200, however I really like the Lamy design so think I will go for that. Both seem to have good reviews when it comes to writing.

I'm not looking to purchase it immediately, this is sort of something for a few months yet, in the Summer. However, what kind of prices do these go for?

I don't quite have the budget to buy new (around £150, or $250), but I was looking on eBay and they don't seem to go for much cheaper.

Would it be unrealistic to expect to be able to find one for around £45-60 (~$70-100)? That would sort of be my maximum.

If not, I have a little more saving to do :P

Thank you.

Currently inked: Diamine Apple Glory (Rembrandt), Pelikan 4001 Turquoise (M400), Lamy Black (Diamond 580)

I can speak for prices of the Lamy 2000 in the USA. New ones go for about $150.00 if it is a new pen. A mint , but used one goes for about $125.00 or thereabouts. And you can find used pens in the $70 to $85 range, depending on how old the pen is, the cosmetic condition, etc. Hope this helps, and gives you an idea of what the used Lamy 2000 pens fetch in the market. Best of luck.

I bought mine about eighteen months ago from WHSmith. It was on special offer for £89, a fantastic price at the time.

Keep your eye out on their website, because they do this quite often with quality FPs.
