Please Help Date My Paragon

I have this bronze arco Paragon, 141 or 142 mm, BB nib, with no year stamped on the section (or anywhere else I can find)

It has a black box (no ink) with a black booklet and black paper outer box. I'm curious about it's age, and know next to nothing about Omas.

 

I have another identical pen (B nib) dated 1998 on the section, with an off white box that says "Collezione Celluloide" on the tray (no ink) with a tan booklet and tan paper outer box.

 

Please, can you help me with the unmarked pen? And do I have the boxes mixed up? After looking through the threads I'm wondering if there was an undated old style model in the early LVMH years.

I have just purchased a new Omas Paragon that is described on the box as Vintage Arco Doric celluloid. It has 3 bands and a nib that says Extra Flessable OMAS 14k EF. On the side of the pen cap it says 14/75. It came with the Omas Sepia ink bottle and has the warrantee book but nowhere does it contain any sort of date. Not sure if there is a site where you can get this info but I would be interested also.

I've seen (and tried at a dealer) a current model that looks like that; called the Vintage Limited Edition. It seems that the three rings are the difference. And you got a bottle of ink.

I am very new to Italian pens, but this paragon seems to be from the 1990s. The new issued LE has 3 ring band, where the earlier ones have Greek band. A beautiful pen nevertheless.

I don't believe the Paragon trim was particularly modified until recently (i.e. 3 band on new vintage limited ones is unusual for Omas). Occasionally there was a greek key placed on the section in addition to the cap in certain Paragon models. Most look exactly like the bronze pictured in your post (i.e. typical old style paragon). Please anyone correct me if they know differently!

 

-As for the date, I think mid-2000s. Nibs.com refers to them as a potential "swan song" for the old style paragon as it was being replaced by the new size which occurred in 2005-06.

 

-Also, here is a link from 2006 in an FPN post referring to them as new/at retail.

 

And Pakman, nice Paragon! Mine is #75/75 with a medium nib and rose gold trim. The original Paragon truly is a magnificient pen! Anyone else want to share their wonderful Paragon pics??

Sorry, also meant to specify yours appears as the "typical" old style Arco not the Collezione Paragons referred to in my post. It really could be anywhere in the 90s to early 2000s. It was a production model so dating would be difficult to impossible I would think.

 

Bryant from chatterly pens or Marco from novelli.it perhaps could be more helpful? Jar even?

Also found this on marcuslink.com (Glenn Marcus' web page). So the earliest it could be is 1991...

Thank you for the help, efforts, and I liked seeing your pens!

 

I only have 3 Omas. The other Paragon has the year on the section. The FAO has an edition number.
Is there any significance that this arco pictured has no number?
