I received mine, and can't wait to dig into these luscious-feeling pages. I just wanted to add a shoutout about their service; I received a lovely, handwritten, note -a real note, not just an obligatory "thank you" - that added to the pleasant experience even more.

Looking forward to ordering again!

I ordered the cream package of 3 pads. I also ordered 2 cream letter size pads. I plan on using the paper for stationary when writing to my pen pals. :) Does Jay send an email when your order ships? Now I need to find a leather cover....any

suggestions?

I never received my notebook, does anyone know the best way to contact Jay?

There should be an email address on your receipt.

Is there a particular ink recomended for this paper?

I notice that on TR lines seem thinner than on other papers. With Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa I have to use a medium nib rather than my usual fine. Eventually I'll find the most pleasing pen and ink combination for it and until then I will enjoy the quest. :)

The TR paper maximizes the shading and sheen potential of inks, so inks with these properties are a good match. The paper is highly resistant to feathering, so it's a good choice for inks that tend to feather or bleed through. Ink also takes longer to dry on TR paper than most other papers so you'll want to use a fast drying ink or setup your desk so you can the pages aside to dry for awhile after writing.

Fountain pen inks that I have tried that DIDN'T do well with the usual disclaimer that this is only based on my experience and subjective view:

Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin--some bleed through and spreading

Levenger Skies of Blue--severe bleed through; my EF and F nibs behaved like Broads. Worst ink experience ever!!

Noodler's Summer Tanager--bleed through and some feathering

I'm still puzzled by Chiku-rin as most of the Iroshizuku inks I have tried are wonderful.

Tomoe River can pretty much take any ink. However, I have had inks that have done BETTER on other paper; so, don't assume that Tomoe River is the consummate paper of all papers.

Received by notebook and pad last night.

Tried Baystate Blue in a wet Stub and I

see what the buzz is all about. No bleed

through what so ever. A little bit of ghosting

but very acceptable.

I'm sold!

Do books come in thicker than 320 pages?

Just a quick confirmation. So Baystate Blue does not feather on tomoe river paper? The love of the ink is pushing my boundaries.

Nothing feathers on this paper, it's amazing.

Nanami has Seven Seas Journals (A5) that are 400+ pages & I think Paper for Fountain Pens now has one that is suitable for an annual journal, so 365+ pages.

Paper For Fountain Pens just restocked their 320 page blank journals in both white and cream. If you've been waiting for these like I have then get them while you still can!

I finally got myself one of these journals and a pad of paper. Not that I hadn't already tried the paper, but I was just "dying for a journal" not wanting to pay the price of a Design Y book.

My order was placed, shipped, and scheduled to arrive on Friday, July 25, 2014. It didn't arrive! Check the tracking . . . Instead of coming to me in the Midwest, from CT it went to Kent, WA. A day or so later it was in Anchorage, AK. The package did finally make to me this morning. I'm totally in love with the notebook!

Jay has been perfect about this event! Refunding the cost of postage, which really wasn't necessary, as the package arrive safe and sound. I will definitely be purchasing more from him just as soon as funding frees up about this time next month! (Had a car accident (only injury to the vehicle) and extra funds went for the deductible.)

Three loud cheers for Jay!

Thank you, Jay! I just placed my order. Let the anticipatory waiting begin!

Can you make one that would fit in Oberon Design Journal Covers? They are the same size, but are 7/8" in depth... I would be really excited for one of those!!!

Still loving my New Year's Edition. I journal in it every day. Aside from the one day I accidentally missed, this is the first time I've ever managed a year-long journal. It's just so much fun to write on the paper. :)

Is there any chance of getting a lined product anytime soon? I want to think the possibility was mentioned before, but now I can't find it. As much as I love the clean look of the blank books, and as much as my ability to hold a line straight has improved, I'd still be very interested in lined paper.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
