I spoke with BadHobbit the day before I called into MB and he said he would be calling in that day as well. I told him I'd just put two on hold for me, thus saving him a call to the boutique. I'm sorry to inform you of this, but I didn't really "seat save" in the way you mentioned. Had I *not* put two bottles on hold, BadHobbit would just have called in the same day as I did, and still would have gotten the ink rather than you.

 

The reality is that the Toronto MB boutique always only gets about 3 bottles of the fancy LE inks. Sometimes they get as many as five, but typically no more than that. If you're really interested in an ink, finding it elsewhere is your better bet. It sucks, but that's how the stock at Toronto MB goes.

This may be of little use to members outside of the United Kingdom, if any are interested, but 'Wheelers Luxury Gifts' has it listed on their website. Diamond Blue Ink

The delivery charge may be quite high for the price of the actual ink, but if purchasing many, it does not seem as bad.

This all depends if they have adequate stock.

That's an interesting observation, mongrelnomad. In leod's post above, with all that shading I assumed it would be a wetter ink.

I want to go on record as saying that I believe your depictions of my actions as being greedy or immoral in any way AND of being the direct cause of you missing out on the ink is wildly flawed. I specifically don't ever buy more than one of the TO bottles of fancy ink for myself precisely so I can give others a crack at it. Since I am usually first in line, I could easily do things a different way.

 

Either way you slice it, I was #1 and BadHobbit was #2 on that list, whether he called that day *as planned* or I did it for him. And none of that changes that you were #5 and there were not enough bottles. There were two other people in front of you in line anyway.

 

But I acknowledge and can accept that you see the situation differently than I do.

 

And again I advise you to find another vendor. Even if you are #1 on the list, at most you'll get 3 bottles of the fancy ink, and only if you are being greedy (and you keep all the bottles for yourself). If you want more than that then you have no choice but to look elsewhere.

Looks like you folks are outside of the US but will share with you that Bromfield Pens in Boston, Mass has this ink. I was in yesterday and they had 2 -3 bottles on the shelf. Hope that helps someone.

I talked to Wheeler's this morning and they had 2 bottles. I was informed, however, that they cannot ship Montblanc products out of the UK. I then talked to Pen Boutique and was told that they are expecting more within the next week. I placed my order with them today so that it will ship when it comes in.

No problem Paul. According to the girl at PB it has been going as soon as they get it. She also said that they would be getting the Swift ink about mid September. I will be in the DC area around then and plan to go their shop to pick some up.

I heard back from Wheelers, and you're correct, PBW, they do have it, and cannot ship outside of the EU.

It is a bit dry like the Hitchcock ink especially on Rhodia paper, it writes better on 32lb HP paper
