Limited production of 200...

If I'm not mistaken, there are many safari fan in the forum...

Should we try to get a special FPN version? It was mentioned earlier, and I second this. 200 sounds feasible!

Any other interested?

What about a purple with a lime green clip :P

I'm most interested. I was actually thinking purple with a lime green clip would be nice. Joker colors.

While I'm not hot about the suggested colours, how exactly do we go about placing a mass order for a custom Safari?

I can probably set it up - Let me investigate.

Now we are talkin'! I was just about to ask if Hans-Peter had the contacts to set this up. Let me know if I can be of any help.

I saw a sample of the Raspberry Al-Star yesterday and it looks quite nice. Not too "girly" for a bloke! It will be available in May alongside the new Ocean Blue Al-Star.

Given the obvious interest just in the Safari, as evidenced by this thread alone, I raise the question yet again: Is it not viable and worthwhile to create and maintain a separate Lamy Brand Focus Forum? I understand that someone would have to volunteer to administer such a project but, if somebody were to step forward, could it not be organised?

The "new" Ocean Blue? - are they just making the special edition run into a permanent model Or is it a change/mode upgrade involved?

New in the sense that it is not available in all markets. My understanding is that it will be part of the core range.

I'll be so happy to see the Ocean Blue coming into the UK market. I was going to get my mom to bring one over but maybe I'll wait, now...

Not to take this thread too far OT, but since we are talking about custom colors, let me suggest a Safari with with the Balloon scheme? Kind of a color version of the Vista:

Thanks to the help of a kind FPNer I got my hands on the blue and yellow SE this week. I was setting up to take some pen pictures this weekend and I took the opportunity to set up one of my Safaris together. I am missing a few but most of the standard colors and LE's are represented. Here you have the Safari trainwreck...

And here is a bit more orderly one:

I think I have to vote for burgundy if we get the opportunity to make an FPN special.

That single picture will represent my Safari quest for the next few years...

Is there one missing?

Thanks

Terracotta Red? The demonstrator?

And I'm curious about the orange one with a black clip on the leftmost. Which model is that?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
