Has Anyone Else Had Any Experience With Ebay Seller Pokydady

A shoebox of Cadbury's Creme eggs from Warwickshire in the UK made it to my door (albeit melted a bit from FL heat) in 8 days. A pen from Canada has taken 18 days and counting.

He is a good eBay seller. I bought from him a few times. It usually took about 10 days to receive the item. Definitely not his fault if it t is taking that long in your case. It sucks when you check mailbox everyday waiting for your first pen...

Two purchases from Pokydady in the last 24 months. Both shipped the day after payment was made and both took fourteen days to get to Florida. Both were with the promised free shipping. I was happy with the service, the product, and the shipping at the vendor's end. Good seller.

I've ordered a bunch of Pilot 78gs from Pokydady. All of them arrived as described, and they are good about responding to e-mails and requests.

I am very grateful for all of your replies. The pen has still not arrived but I'll just have to wait it out, even though it's my second good FP (not sure if Parker Vector counts) and my first order.

Bought a Pilot 78G with a bottle of Parker Quink from him. Took around 3 weeks to reach Canada, but otherwise, no problem.

If you buy ANYTHING from Hong Kong or China that is cheap. It will take at least 3 weeks minimum. Especially from ebay.

I buy items from Hong Kong on a regular basis.

I find the the items I buy usually leave there around the 24th.

Not sure if they hold back parcels until they get enough to put on a plane or what.

I do know that since tighter airport regulations have come into effect that shipping from HK takes a lot longer than it used to.

I used to get packages in about 4 or 5 days from HK, now it's usually about 2 weeks.

I was one of those who bought the PPS cartridges from them and had no problems with delivery.

OTOH, I bought two books (Vols 2 and 3 of "The Science of Discworld) from an AbeBooks dealer in the UK. They were ordered together, paid for together, packed separately but both posted on the same day. One took 5 days to get to Aus, the other over 3 weeks.

Things I buy from engeika regularly take 3 days to get to me (excluding weekends, but including 2 hours to go through Customs (I could tell from the tracking) ) from Japan, but I have bought books from another AbeBooks dealer from southern NSW (about 250 km away) that took nearly a week to get to me.

As far as I can see, postage, both national and international, is simply a fundamental expression of chaos...

I bought a 78g from poky daddy -very happy with the experience and service. Can't remember how long the pen took to arrive sorry, but as others have said would be very surprised indeed if ithe problem for the OP were down to the seller.

+1 I have ordered two 78G's from Pokydady. The first one arrived in 7 days and the second one took two weeks (to California). Send him an email...response has always been good. I would just chalk it up to mail from China to ? can be inconsistent due to differing international regulations.

I purchased some pens from Pokydaddy about a year ago. I remember it was about a week late in arriving, but was shipped very promptly after initial order. Overall iut was a good buying experience.

  • 2 weeks later...

I can't believe it. The pen STILL HASN'T ARRIVED. I'm very fed up and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I contacted Pokydady and as compensation he sent me another one on the 4th or April. I know it's not his fault but this entire experience has been unpleasant. It has been 42 days. I've just ordered a TWSBI 540 from a local place that will arrive in a few days but I still check the mailbox multiple times a day for the 78G.

I think that this is the last time that I'm ordering internationally. Maybe I'll order something from Richard Binder (worth the priority shipping) but otherwise, forget it :crybaby:

international shipping can be very hit and miss. You never know what package is going to sit at customs for an extra month. I just ordered (in the last month)a 4 pack of 78G pens from pokydaddy. I was told to expect the pens in 2-4 weeks. I had the pens in just 1 week. At the same time I had a package take three weeks to cross the state I am living in.

Don't rely on "priority" shipping being fast. I've had "priority" postage packages from the USA take just over a month before. Sometimes my first class mail items arrive in 10 days, sometimes it takes a month and a half. It really is completely random...

You live in Germany, and buy a pen from Hong Kong. Presumably because it is cheaper.

I have no experience of the seller mentioned, but will avoid buying form the far east because of the shipping / import problems. I would sooner pay a little more and have a quick reliable service.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
