Has Anyone Else Had Any Experience With Ebay Seller Pokydady

So I ordered a Pilot 78G here [url="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pilot-black-78G-fountion-pen-medium-nib-free-cartridge-/350357491670?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5192ef0fd6"[/url]

Shipping was from Hong Kong to Germany. I expected standard international shipping of 1-2 weeks. When 2 weeks was nearing, I contacted Pokydady on Facebook and he/she said that shipping takes 2 weeks. When it was past 2 weeks, I contacted Pokydady again and he said that the shipping time should be 3 weeks.

It's now 3 and a half weeks. This is the first pen that I have EVER ordered in my life and I check the mailbox several times a day. I have no idea what to do now.

No experience with this seller but I have heard that HK post is overwhelmed with demand right now, I wouldnt neccessarily blame the seller.

Shipping from Hong Kong takes anywhere from 9-40 days for me. I've purchased from him before, it was fine, took about a month to arrive, but since I've purchased Chinese pens from the 'bay, I know that sometimes it just takes forever. It's pretty hard for the sellers to control the time it takes for a package to arrive...

Thanks for the replies. He does have a 99.8% positive rating so I guess I'm just going to give it another 2 weeks.

FWIW- I have ordered three time from this seller and it has all gone well. I hope your order comes through soon. I am in the US and it took between 10 and 14 days to get here.

Hi,

I've always had good experience with that Vendor.

Please be aware that when any package is traveling internationally, it can be delayed by border-crossing formalities. I've had expedited / priority items take weeks to be released back into the postal system.

Please let us know what comes to pass.

No problems with that seller in my experience. As others have said, international shipping is largely out of the hands of the shipper.

I've ordered from him before too, no problems, sometimes it has been really fast, like a week and half fast and sometimes it has taken longer. I think he's very reliable.

I have ordered from him before. It did take a little over a month. Not sure why though. I ordered another pen from a different seller who is out of Honk Kong also and at the same time. That one arrived in a week and a half.

My recent experiences with HK post -

2 pens shipped to me on 2nd February. Never arrived. I have now received a refund.

1 pen ordered 13th March - received yesterday. :hmm1:

I've had a mixed bag ordering from HK. Sometimes they get here in 1-2 weeks. Other times I've waited over 12 weeks. If you've got a tracking number you can see where it is (lots of times it gets stuck in customs, especially on both ends looking for counterfeits).

I've ordered from him in the past, and it took only 2 weeks to get to the US.

As with others I have ordered from Chinese sellers on ebay and they have either arrived within a few weeks or sometimes a few months. These can be because of delays at Customs etc. I would not worry too much and give it at least another few weeks.

Pokydady is a good seller. Several of us loaded up on Parker Penman Sapphire cartridges when he (or she?) was selling them at about .25 each.

I have found that US Customs can be quirky. Sometimes they hold a pen for a week or two; sometimes they sail it right through. Maybe German customs works the same -- unpredictable -- way.

I ordered a 78G from him, no problems to speak of.

For your first pen, you should buy a Pelikan m200 or a TWSBI 540.

For vintage, get a Parker Vacumatic or a 51.

Once you go Vac, you never go back.

Poky daddy is awesome. They even reply to emails with questions. Sometimes things just take forever coming from there - and sometimes things get lost. But a good seller.

Shipping from HK/China is always a crapshoot. I've never had a pen take less than a month to get to Canada from there. Yet packages from South Korea take about ten days. It may be a search for counterfeits, but I've yet to receive a package that appears to have been opened.

I've heard only good things about Pokydady: give it a little more time.

Sounds like you should be ok to just wait some more. Living in the US, I find myself hesitating to buy pens from overseas. I've had good luck from England but not so good with other places.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
