Please count me in.

"No one needs to rotate a pen while using an oblique, in fact, that's against the whole concept of an oblique, which is to give you shading without any special effort."Professor Propas, 24 December 2010

"IMHO, the only advantage of the 149 is increased girth if needed, increased gold if wanted and increased prestige if perceived. I have three, but hardly ever use them. After all, they hold the same amount of ink as a 146."FredRydr, 12 March 2015

I'm in, as long as at least one of the many finishes I love is available as an option.

I am pleased with the projected prices, and buying from the Goulets has always been a pleasure.

I like Edison pens and I like the idea of a group buy, but the Pearl isn't for me.

ETA: I am impressed by both Edison and Goulet for the professionalism and attention to us that is being paid in possibly making this happen.

Same here.

Thank you so much for making the guidelines for the group buy so clear. Love the idea and if it comes about I am in!

And from me too. Also a really big thank you to Trillium, who came up with the idea in the first place.

Folks,

I see a lot of people holding back on voting waiting for the final material and price.

Voting "yes" does not commit anyone to anything at this point.

Only vote "no" or abstain if you would NOT want a clipped Pearl c/c filler in ANY material in the price range of $160-$195 (plus shipping, holiday cookies for the UPS person, etc.). A "yes" says you are serious about buying if the final material and price turn out OK (and you're solvent at the time it actually does down).

If the minium votes are obtained, then the project moves to the next step - determination of material, construction of a prototype and establishing a final price. Remember, Mr Gray stated:

"4. You will see a prototype version of the final pen prior to making any commitment."

Edison Pens is simply trying to figure out if it is worth the time and expense to make that one prototype.

The actual commitment happens when we send money in to Goulet Pens (step "C" above). If there are enough real orders, then it will actually happen.

To use a poker term, I've seen the flop and I'll call. :-)

Greg

P.S. I'll add my thanks to trillium & heraclitus682 for getting this started and to Mr Gray and the Goulets for their support and good business processes.

Yep, Heraclitus... a little excited indeed.. haha.

I would like to extend a huge "Thank you" to you, Heraclitus for jumping in to keep the ball rolling when I "blinked" and to Mr.Gray for orchestrating this so well, and to the Goulets for being the catalyst that made this project truly feasible. It is small wonder why so many people hold the Goulets and Mr Gray in such high regard, this surpasses "customer service". With the task being considerable and the returns marginal, it is without question an act of kindness. This is precisely why it matters "little" to, "not at all" what materials are chosen to me. The pen will be a tangible example of why I am a fan of Edison & Goulet.

I'm in the same boat. Mr Gray has some spectacular acrylics and I love ebonite. Unless the group picks hot pink or something of the like, I'm going to like this pen no matter what. And even if the group picks hot pink, I'll still get one because my daughter will love it.

Is anyone else visiting the Edison Pen Co. Smugmug galleries, drooling over the possibility of owning a pen like this one in Golden Flake Acrylic?

Or this one in Flecked Tortoise Acrylic?

Or this one in Bedrock Flake Acrylic?
