I do have 3-4 materials in mind already that I'm already considering for this. I'll be watching this threads for additional suggestions. But nothing is set in stone. Sometime next week (probably Monday), I'll start a poll with 4-5 materials. I'll make sure that all of them will be great candidates.I won't be picking anything wacky or outlandish. All will be chosen for their mass appeal. And there will be at least one that no one has seen before and that I absolutely love....so there will be a very nice material that I have not used before, but I've been wanting to badly... Now all this being said, I'll add whatever comments are needed here, and I'll pay close attention to what you guys are thinking would make a great pen.

The "fun factor" is increasing every day!

Brian, let me be the next to thank you for setting this up!

These acrylics are all very beautiful, but I think it would also be a good idea to include an option in the poll for something more understated:

It was fun to see the Flecked Tortoise Acrylic pop up because I bought that exact pen in LA last week! While I dearly love this pen I'd be in favor of a different material. :)

I REALLY like the sound of this. I think it would make our "limited edition production" pens a little more unique and special.

Or this one in Flecked Tortoise Acrylic?

So many wonderful pens... :puddle:

I don't think it's very likely that I'll participate. BUT, this or that other gold flake material might change my mind. There were a few more in the gallery that I'd find very tempting...

This ebonite one is my absolute favorite so far. Stunning, and so reminiscent of those great pens of old.

I would definitely go for a clipped pearl in this color. :) Even if it costs a bit more.

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

Oh yea, a question to Brian:

Do we get a choice of gold or silver trim? I cannot stand gold trim... :(

Or maybe the majority will vote silver trim anyway. I just want to make sure I don't get stuck with a gold clipped pen. Me-no-like gold trim...

This is beautiful! Would definitely be in with this pen, and I agree with the silver clip. I have a gold clip pen already and love it, but don't need another.

It just depends on the material. There are definitely materials where I feel gold looks awful, and vice-versa.

In that case, I will trust your design judgment and see what happens. I know you'll make it beautiful ,whatever the choice is.

Watching this thread and visiting the Edison galleries reminds me of Tom Sawyer's visit to the knife counter to select a pocket knife. So many choices, so much variety, all beautiful. Overwhelming. Impossible to make a choice. In the end, whatever you end up with looks beautiful when seen by itself. The body of Mr. Gray's work makes me feel the same way.

Those might make me change my "no" to a "yes." If there's a nice brownish red-amber tortoise, I'd REALLY be in.

That is one sweet looking pen.

Mr. Gray, is something like this with the black ends a possibility?

As much as I'd like to be "in," I just voted "no." I prefer internal fillers so I've capped what I'm willing to spend on a C/C pen at $150. I've also recently come to the conclusion that I have plenty of M asnd B nibs, too many F nibs (I rarely use them anyway) and not enough stub and italic nibs so I'm really not inb the market for a C/C pen with a round nib at any price.

OTOH, I really do like the pen, it's simply gorgeous and there are so many beautiful materials that I may have to give in to temptation and spend just a little over the limit on just one more C/C pen with a round nib (and then send it out to become a cursive italic). It's either that or save my pennies for a custom bulb filler :hmm1:

Edited to add: My collection is severly lacking in ebonite, maybe that's the excuse I need to change my vote. :eureka:
