Real Or Fake Generation Pencil?

Edit: Just found this Canadian auction, and this Meisterstuck pencil has the same mechanism, and cartridge as mine:

Hey all.

Just picked up this Generation pencil in blue, and gold trim. I'm suspecting it may be a copy, because the threads aren't brass. And the pencil cartridge isn't MB marked like the pencil in this completed auction, although this pencil appears to have white threads as well:

MONT BLANC GENERATION GREEN TOSCA MECHANICAL PENCIL

In this auction the pencil mechanism is the same as mine, but the cartridge is also marked MB:

MONTBLANC GENERATION Rare RED GOLD 0.7mm Mechanical pencil NR!

Here are pictures of my pencil. Mine appears to be the same as the two linked above, except for the unmarked pencil cartridge:

Hi, I do not have the Generation, but I just checked my Meisterstuck pencil and the tube is also not marked with MB. It has markings concerning the lead but that is all. I know mine is authentic because I bought it at a MB boutique years ago.

I have the black/platinum 0.7 mm version and apart from this I can see no other differences.

You don't know what you need until you realise you haven't got it.

Thank you osnofian, orfew, and Rowbo for the fast replies. Much appreciated

I don't normally go for pencils, unless it's a pen/pencil set, but the seller was motivated, and I picked it up at a very good price. I will say for a Generation, this is a really nice example. I know there have been some criticisms about the build quality of the Generation line, but this pencil feels pretty nice in hand.

I am probably in the minority, but I also like the Generation model. I have 2 rollerballs, one in bright orange and one in bright yellow. They are very comfortable to write with.

That orange is fantastic!

Back in 2009, there was a seller on eBay Canada that was selling a pile of the Generation rollerball pens for a little over $100. Unfortunately I missed out. My local authorized agent told me the Generation ballpoints are only suppose to be for corporate gifts, yet every week someone walks in asking to buy one. Clearly this is a very popular line.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
