How interesting, I liked him. How did you come by it?

Likewise, a great character actor ... was he a relative?

Hi Manoj, you are now on the road to fame. Your words of joy have been been viewed and felt by 655 people since August 24th.

May there be many more.

There certainly are, as it's been resurrected, but Manoj seems to be taking a break

One more thing on Mr. Lorne Greene's Montblanc 146.....

What do they mean by "hand rolled resin" ?

No relation. It was bequeathed to a friend of his, from whom I bought it.

Thanks.

Well . . . . . . Bonhams claim in one of their pen auctions

MONTBLANC: Sir Winston Churchill Limited Edition 53 Fountain Pen
Sir Winston Churchill (a dedicated Montblanc fancier) was voted the greatest Briton of all time for his courageous dedication to the cause of freedom. This stout, elegant pen testifies to the great Briton's iron will and determination, while the pen's radiant facets reflect the light of hope he gave to his countrymen in Britain's darkest hour.
Now I am not sure where Bonhams got that info from but I am not that sure that the great man was actually a 'dedicated Montblanc fancier' . Anyone got anything concrete to back that up or otherwise ?
Think I have read that Sir Winston had a Conway Stewart and an Onoto at different times.

A wise man once said    " the best revenge is wealth "   but a wiser man answered back    " the best revenge is happiness "

The true definition of madness - Doing the same thing everyday and expecting different results......

  • 5 years later...

I once saw a picture of Angela Merkel and Barack Obama signing a treaty of some sort with a Montblanc pen.

I myself have owned a rose gold plated Montblanc Meisterstück that used to belong to the actor Sir Christopher Lee, but since it still had ink on the nib I decided to sell it because I couldn't use it without removing that history.

Hi..I am Manoj from India (Chennai) and have recently fell in love with something inanimate but filled with more life than I could possibly fathom...Montblanc pens...The very touch of them gives me sheer joy..The very sight of the star gives me immense pleasure...The paper seems to long for the gentle caress of the pen and I stop to wonder how many great poems & epics were written just because this pen materialised in their creative fingers... There could not be a more enjoyable place for me than Fountain Pen Network and I hereby delare this place as my serene abode...The question I pose for contemplation is who are the Famous (or Infamous) people who used Montblanc?

Looks like Prince Charles uses the 146 Solitaire Sterling Silver Pinstripe:

Interesting, it seems he uses that pen a lot and it must be his personal, he was at an official function and signing a book with that very pen and a bottle of Waterman black on the table. Because of the ink bottle I thought it was all provided by the organization, but seeing him use the same pen over and over again has me questioning that, though I still wonder about the ink bottle..

About a year ago I came across a photo of Charles signing something; he was younger, and it was probably taken in the 90s, but the pen was the same one.

Yves Montand used 149 in several movies. Not sure whether in real life too, but I believe he did.

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
