There are several reviews for Blue Ghost.

Blue Ghost (invisible except by ultraviolet light) (waterproof) artaddict's review, beezaur's review, Inka's review, ToryLynn's review

And I think Brian made an ink drop with Blue Ghost once, too.

In some things in life it's better to take a Zen approach. If you think too much you won't achieve your goal, wheras if you don't think and let yourself go, it shall be achieved with ease. I find this helpful in writing, kendo and music.

How stranger. I just inked a pen this morning with this. Its a fun to play with ink, but I have a very hard time finding practical applications for it...

I have a Lamy Vista loaded with Blue Ghost that I got on Inkdrop. I have just played around with it, trying to find a use for it. I did "tag" a couple of contracts with a unique number and my name. I guess that I could verify that they are the originals I signed by verifying the code. Might not be very practical.

I also marked my Ipad Dodocase on the bamboo liner. I could verify it's mine.

This ink interests me, but I have a few questions concerning it that I have not seen addressed elsewhere.

Firstly, I would like to know whether or not its UV-reactive property diminishes over time; how does long it take for the ink to stop reacting to UV light and become truly invisible, and thus whatever you've written is then forever lost? If it does in fact stop reacting that is.

Also, I wonder if there comes a time where the ink eventually ages to the extent that it becomes 'visible' (or at least some discernible markings become visible) on the page without any UV stimulus at all?

In short, I wonder what the prospective 'long term' aspects of this ink are.

Do you think that one could write something with Blue Ghost and 10 years later return to it to find that it's still as invisible as it initially was on the page and yet still fluoresce under black light?

How long would it take before the UV glow loses some intensity? And becomes 'darker' than it originally was? (if ever that is).

I'm no Chemist, but I am interested in this ink :D

Can anyone enlighten me?

I got a sample of it, and it is fine. I think it is Goulet that has 2 small ring light that fits on a pen and shows up. However, I have a 15 yr old son that goes to school 4 hours away. I think it will be fun to write in regular ink on the front, and the invisible ink on the back.

  • 1 month later...

Blue Ghost is a fun ink, and Minipeanut really likes it. It encourages him to practice his spelling words for school because it's so much more fun to write them in invisible ink than in boring old visible ink. One thing, though -- He was writing with BG in a Norcom composition book, and the ink smeared the lines in the notebook. So much for invisible....

I got some but my son used (played) with it. He thought that he might be able to use it to sign his photographs so not distract from the pictures, but still be there. I'll have to ask him what he thought of the ink. But definitely no multi-year experience!

Any ideas as to where to buy this in the EU? TWD and missing-pen are out of stock, any other known dealers in the EU to try? I have tried to buy this ink for about a year now, it's getting frustrating...

When our electricity went out two weeks ago I wrote my brother a letter using a UV flashlight (my wife bought it to find urine stains where the dogs and cats had been indiscreet.) and Noodler's Blue Ghost. It helped pass the time until the power company got our regular lights back on. My six year old grandson loves it because he can draw "invisible" dragons. My one problem with the letter is I have to order one of the little lights from the Goulets and send it to my brother with the letter so he can read it. He doesn't have any dogs or cats.

He came down from heaven and was made man.

Personally, I use this 3W led UV flashlight (LINK). I also installed a 15w blacklight neon at my desk (cost 20$ at Réno Dépôt in Québec Canada). It work great with this ink for taking note in book.

I use it for writing back story in my personal journal and taking note in some books. I also use it to improve the flow of some other noodlers inks. does so quite nicely.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
