Thanks, Mr.Rene & jlh8114! I've been practicing to write with pressure on the downstrokes and no pressure on the upstrokes.

But where's the blue light example? I know those other guys have young eyes, but I sure don't!

Lovely Spencerian writing! What pen did you use?

Thank you Lloyd. I'm using my Diamond Point wet noodle.

Aslan, I haven't tried it on any other paper besides my Mead Composition book.

garyc, I'm not sure why they call it Blue Ghost.

Judybug, huh? :hmm1:

I'm like garyc - I just can't see it. That piece of paper looks naked - like the Emperor in "The Emperor's New Clothes." Well, no - actually I think the Emperor was in his underwear - OK - bad analogy - never mind.

If you shine a blue light on the computer monitor, the writing shows up crystal clear. Stunning examplar, Pep. But then again, I'd expect nothing less from you!

So here's what happened
While you were nappin'
I just went out for a snack
I was feelin' famished
And then I vanished...
But now I'm back

But why do they call it Blue Ghost - presumably beause it has a blue tint - but I just can't see it....

It glows blue under black light. See the right-most bottle:

Apparently, Pep has found a way around the FPN potty mouth guidelines. Naughty thing, you.

Why, sometimes I'd like to take a switchblade and a peppermint and a Cadillac and throw it all in a fire.

Is that Blue Ghost or Whiteness of the Whale? My Blue Ghost is transparent and has a yellow tint to it.

Good catch! I'd moved them around and apparently forgot to put the Blue Ghost in the re-take.

Whiteness of the Whale on the left, Blue Ghost on the right. Sorry about the cruddy photo, but I'm tired.

Whitness is more to the violet end (this shows up best in the cap), where Ghost is more turquoise.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
