Some quick picks of the pens (F top, M bottom), the cases (bottom came with first pen, rest had top case), and scribblings (first 4 are Prera).

Do not read beyond this if you fear enabling comments :).

Was looking around the net today and came across some new demonstrator colors beyond the basic ones, something like 20 colors.

i've had no problems with diamine in my prera :)

I'm glad to read that, because there are a lot of other Diamine colors I would like to try. The main reason I was attracted to collecting the Preras was to mix and match the bright-colored pen bodies with different inks.

On that note, for those in this thread who have the royal blue Prera, what ink do you like in it? Having trouble deciding what would look good with it. I seem to have good luck with the PR fast drying ink, so was going to try the midnight blue, but I don't know. The body seems like a really bright RB so maybe it would make certain shades of blue look weird in contrast?

It's almost a purple blue. I've got Diamine Imperial Blue in there, it's a fairly close match.

The good news is that the replacement pink showed up in today's mail. Knocked half the things off my desk in excitement to get ink in it. It started right up with the Diamine ink and so far has no flow issues whatsoever.

The bad news is my photography skills suck and no matter what I try, I can't get this writing sample to come out very well at all. But I'm posting it anyway. I had a bit of an inkpocalypse yesterday, so when that batch comes, I can always do another sample to replace this one, if anyone has tips on how to take a non-crappy pic of your handwriting using a webcam  This webcam does not seem to have an option to change the focus or if it does, I cannot find it.

Edited to change it to a hopefully less blinding version of the pic :D That's a good idea to do that at Bestbuy, maybe I will unleash the inkpocalypse on them. These are all medium nibs btw. When I said it wouldn't come out well I meant the pic not the pens - the pens are all smooth operators now.

Yikes that hurts my old eyes trying to focus on that :).

Taking a picture with a web cam, now that is hard core. Try pulling it back a bit farther, looks out of focus.

I just bought a new camera yesterday to replace the P&S the boy had dropped and broke and its taking better handwriting pictures than my DLSR. It also has a macro setting which seems to be working really well so far and the cost of the camera is 1/2 the price of the macro lens I was looking at. I got lucky with the macro, I wasn't even thinking about it as a feature when I bought the camera.

You can get these things for around $120 if your inclined, heck take some handwriting samples to BestBuy and try them out.

Do you have a medium? The mediums are much smoother.

I don't know why the middle pen has a different pattern on the cap

The colors are not quite right, need to work on paper/ink pictures. The colors are not this dull: VR has pinkish look to it, AC is a little more greenish, B is a shade lighter and LCR is lighter and purplier, if thats a word :).

Aren't there two "editions" of the Prera demonstrator? Last year's and this year's?

I think you might be right because I've seen new (to me) colors of the demonstrator popping up on engeika's eBay store. Also noticed that Jetpens just got medium nib demonstrators in stock.

I just added the grey and ivory colors to my hoard. Cutting myself off from shopping for a bit, because I need to get customer service on a non-Pilot pen that turned out to be a dud. Maybe I'm a little snakebit since that's twice in the same month I had a problem with a new pen :(

I didn't mean the full body solid, there are 2 types of Clears, translucent and solid tips.

The seller at eBay seems to sell these at auction, not at Buy It Now. Isn't it tedious to bid and buy so many different pens? Or am I missing an obvious here (as I so often do, sigh)?

I noticed some of the demonstrators with colored ends are listed with names matching the Iroshizuku names - tsuki-yo, fuyu-syogun...

engeika sometimes does Buy It Now, but not very often. If you're looking for the non-demonstrator models, though, there are various other sellers who stock them at very reasonable prices, although they seem to be a "two to three weeks delivery" kind of thing.

I always go for the non buy-it first because sometimes people aren't paying attention or they don't want it and you can get it cheaper. There was a pen that I wanted that was usually going for around > 70 and I had bid at the beginning 60, wasn't around when it completed and it was sold for 61. I got that Lime for $23.50, I'm guessing because no one wanted that color, the others were more than that. I'm all for tedious if it costs less :).

The Irosh names are part of the solid tip clears, 14 of those and 9 of the translucent tips. The colors I posted above are the 23 that I have seen in an image.

engeika ships quicker in comparison and if you have multiple items he does combine them for less than shipping them individually.

I bought 3 50ml bottles of Wancher ink and received 3 bottles of 30ml. I sent an email and he responded within 1/2 a day saying that the original description was incorrect and should have been 30ml and that he would be sending 3 50ml bottles when he shipped my current order. He also had combined my last winnings in one order, I then bid on something else and paid for everything. He refunded me some money because he combined that later item with the previous ones.
