Waterman Pen V. Mont Blanc

Recommended Posts

I like the designs of both, but I received the Waterman as a graduation gift and the Mont Blanc I purchased on my own. I did not know a lot about pens at the time, but I realize finding a pen for comfort is the most important thing because the Waterman is a thicker pen and feels better when writing for long periods. I have the 75th Anniversary Edition Mont Blanc which I believe is thinner than the Le Grand MB, so I hurt myself by not thinking the purchase through. Your thoughts?

Which 75th Anniversary Edition & Waterman pen do you have?

Have you tried writing with a MB 146 or 149? I would recommend you go to a MB boutique and try their various pens and nib sizes.

Also, Don't worry too much about having the wrong MB Anniversary Edition. There are hundreds of people here who would gladly take it off your hands, if you do decide to sell or trade.

I have the 75th Anniversary Edition ball point pen with the tiny diamond at the top of the pen. I kept the box with the gold label on it, but I do not have the CD that came with it. I am interested in selling it, but have not yet made my 30 post quota. If you or someone you know may be interested, please give me some suggestions.

Dont peddle your stuff in this thread or else the MOD's will delete it. Wait untill you have sufficient post count and than offer your item for sale in the classifieds. No one gives a damn about the CD. As long as the pen is in good condition it will sell sooner or later. From a collectors point of view however ballpoints are not as much in demand as fountainpens are.

Dont agree with the " no one gives a damn about the CD " part of your post. Collectors like inner & outer boxes and every other thing that comes with the pens as new. Even barrel nib size stickers have been asked for when I have been selling MB's.

The easiest way to make the 30-post and 30-day quota is to spend some time on Fountain Pen Network talking with people. The month and post numbers go by pretty quickly that way.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
