Opooh, can you tell us how much you paid for the beautiful 129 and 30? I had a chance to buy a 129 couple years ago at LA pen show but I blew it. It was in excellent condition and seller wanted $5000 USD for it. I am guessing 129 easily go for $7500 USD now. I am beginning to think there are more than handful of 129 in existence. A grail pen for me for sure, especially in OBB nib.

The 30 was much cheaper, both were bought for a reasonable price.

This one came in the mail today. A short 146 with 14.2 cm length, possibly dating back around 1995. I was expecting a fine nib but it seems on the EF side to me. What a good start to a new week :D

I am trying to decide on the nib for this pen and then buy it. I tried them at the MB Boutique. The Fine was not wet enogh and the Medium was very wet. I use it for many office things including signing check. The Fine was skipping on the fast signature. How is your Fine???

I also bought this one for signing documents at work. It has not seen my home yet, I will ink it tonight. I will then advise you how it is. I will contact you via PM, since this thread is mainly focusing on new purchases. Thank you for your interest.

All you need to do is swap the GvF for an MB and you will be all set. Great looking conference portfolio.

My only MB is a Jules Verne and I managed to bust the nib up, so it's in for repairs at the moment :( I'll have a second MB when my local boutique gets the 90th anniversary 149s into stock, or if a reasonably priced used 75th anniversary limited edition 149 comes my way....

This is the writing utensil that got me hooked on Montblanc. This is my Montblanc starwalker, black mystery metal body. She is a fineliner armed with a medium irish green refill. She is a heavy utensil, but boy does she write as smooth as butter! Occasionally I'll slide in a fine point mystery black ink refil. I get compliments daily on this beauty. She's my pride and joy. I purchased her brand new from the boutique in Chicago, Illinois back in February.

I had the Starwalker for a short time. It was also a fineliner. I really liked you call it an "utensil" because I thought the same for it. It felt as a solid tool that you could trust upon forever. Enjoy it!

Thank you very much. I love carrying it around because the little star in the globe sticks out of my shirt and it is a real head Turner. The weight in the hand and the smooth way it writes makes it an unbelievable utensil. I'll pass it down to my son when I am no longer able to write or function. I'm always trying to expand my collection! Thank you for the kind words!

Went to the Pen Show in Köln yesterday . It was a good hunt, two white elephants.attachicon.gifIMG_0460.jpg A 30 with OB nib.

attachicon.gifIMG_0443.jpgattachicon.gifIMG_0459.jpgattachicon.gifIMG_0457.jpgattachicon.gifIMG_0447.jpgattachicon.gifIMG_0451_1024.jpg And this beautiful L129 with OBB nib.

Nice finds! Congratulations. Must have missed them as one of my favorite sellers told me he just handed over a L129 to a customer :)

Next time we should meet and have a short Montblanc-chat ;-)

Here are my new possessions:

  • Montblanc Collectible Stars (1.5 kg of massive eye candy overdose  )
  • New 90 years ink (permanent grey)
  • 146 Solitaire Vermeille (fine nib; new in box)
  • "Mystery" modern 139 ;) …finally was able to pick this up after a long needed repair :)

I was wondering if anybody would know the final year of the vermeille Solitaire pens? They are still listed in my 1990's catalogs but not anymore in the mid 2000's. I think this is a fairly late pen as the package already shows the newer model ID # Montblanc used since the early 2000's.

Even it was a short visit for me at the Cologne Pen Show it was worth seeing all those great people and pens again.

Cheers

Michael

Congrats on your nice pens, seems we have the same taste and the same suppliers. The quality on these suppliers tables in Köln was outstanding.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
