@Astron, I'd love to see any doodles you're willing to post . What I like most about forums instead of e.g. blogs is that you can see how a bunch of different people do things. I think even the crudest sketches (not to suggest that your doodles are crude!) are interesting and expressive. And I think everyone I've seen here is friendly and encouraging, which always helps (or else I'd probably never have posted myself...).

Combination of a sketch and text (a-la lettering) to create a "product badges" in old school style. In the basis was an oil painting "wolf" by S I M U L.

 

One use variant is blind embossing on kraft paper:

Thanks. My skills have declined in the last decade or two. I hope I will have the opportunity to sketch more in the following ones.

As promised I'll show you my doodles. Even if I'm not sure it's art enough.

 

Some folks consider me strange. => They are right.

 

These doodles are mostly for stress relief for me plus training my hand after the time of many wrist inflammations due to strain. They were made from 2016 to now.

 

When I begin such a doodle I have no plan. All I know is that it will follow some rules how the edges are connected and what angles are allowed. So the doodle would just grow like a crystal. As you can see they also may vary in symmetry - which also might be broken sometimes in favour of other patterns. That's what I call them, "Muster" - "Patterns".

 

I usually do these on 4-5mm squared paper. The last one was made on a thin hexagon isometric 5mm grid. Some are made motley by colored pencils including ones in neon and metallic, markers or just plain ink.

 

Luckily for me I don't "have" to do them much lately. Not so much for you if you enjoy them.
