I have used Noodler's Squetegue periodically. It is dark enough to stand in for blue or black when I'm bored with the traditional colors. The ink is very well behaved for general writing.

On my monitor, the samples in Jakob's review look almost aqua. I find the Squetegue is more typically darker and ambiguous in color than this. The darker shaded portions from this sample are closer to the lighter shades in my use. Then again, I do favor wet nibs.

With Squetegue, one looks at it and it appears dark blue but somehow "off." Then in different light it has more of a grayish deep water color. Tilt the paper and there's clearly a greenishness to it. Some ink colors have a moodiness to them. This is one of them.

"Moodiness"

I like that. It really does fit Squeteague. I have it in a Lamy Studio with a 1:1 stub right now and I would agree that it is darker and less blue than the scans by a little bit, not a lot. The horizontal, concentrated scribbles are really close.

Thanks! Great review. I will definitely have to add this ink to my line-up.

You're very welcome, Sailor Kenshin! ^^

This ink is quite interesting. The colour is kinda like Noodler's turquoise. But the colouring at the back looks like Noodler's green marine.

Thank you for the review. This ink is really pretty in use, and for a dark ink it shades (as your review shows). I never realized that drops would look green on the reverse side - an interesting side effect. I'll check it out again.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

In all of my pens whether flex stubs f, m, b out looks a nearly dead ringer for Diamine Teal

Huh? I'm having trouble parsing this sentence. Punctuation, man! :)

You're very welcome, Amber! I thought that green on the back was interesting too, so I felt compelled to scan and share it too. :)

Oops read sorry. IT looks like a dead ringer for Diamine Teal. Great ink great color

Thanks for the clarification! It makes sense now. :) From what I've seen online, they do look pretty similar. Noodler's Squeteague is definitely a teal.

I had a parker 21 inked with squeteague. It ran out today. I inked a shaeffer imperial with diamine twilight and the two were almost identical.

Weird in the review how the bubble letter color looks different than the color in "The quick brown fox [...]". When I write with squeteague it tends to look like the latter.

Can you do a scan? That would be a nifty comparison.

thank you for the very beautiful sample of how squeteague is on paper. I love this ink. And you have done a good work showing it. Also love the comment about how moody this color is. Indeed.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
