Actually I became a member about a year ago but never really posted much... I started collecting pens about 10 years ago nothing special. It was just one day I was like you know what I like pens...... I think Im going to collect them... so I started collecting them... I've always collected stuff but pens is what I really like and its the only thing I collect now. I used to collect coins and baseball cards and stuff like that actually I would of preffered soccer cards since I am a soccer player but I couldn't find them anywhere so I stopped....I actually found this FPN by googleing for storage ideas for my pens........I had about 50 or so pens again nothing special and I was looking to see if I could find a way to store them better cause I just had them in plastic bags in a drawer.... yeah.......plastic bags....sorry..... anyways I saw some pics of a pen cabinet that a guy from the network remodeled from an old printers chest and it was awsome and that gave me an idea of how to store them and so I made my own... hopefully I will soon share it with you guys....I THINK ITS VERY COOL......I will let you guys decide as soon as I learn how to post pics in this thing...ok well I need to go.

Greetings from South Carolina

"Hello, my name is PPLV and I'm a penaholic."

The only people who are "crazy" are the ones who haven't discovered the love of pens yet. I'm glad I also found a place where we are all "committed" to our love of pens. Welcome! :D

A few months ago, my daughter asked me why I needed so many pens and if I used them all.

I replied by asking her how many shoes she had, if she really needed all of them, and if she used them all.

I find it really interesting that people have this problem with building a fountain pen collection, but none whatsoever with most other objects. After all, most of us actually use a collection of things that don't take much space. I also have a small (?) collection of vinyl 78 rpm records, and the gramophone to play them with, but nobody asks a question about that.

Welcome to this club of crazy, opinonated, eccentrics...

Collecting is not a bad thing...unless it's something disgusting lik collecting used snot rags.... I used to collect baseball hats...the kind with a logo. I gave that up since I never wore them and the space it took up. I'm new to this network and am just starting to look into the fountain pen thing. I do have a review to post (eventually) but I'm just feeling my way around this place for now.

Welcome...and hello

You know, they could be right. In my experience, family is really valuable, because usually you are the last person to realize that you have gone crazy, but your family is the first to point it out. Even if it is not in fact true. I mean, how many pens can be too many? Really! Really?

Oh, Welcome to FPN! Do not expect an objective judgment about your sanity here!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
