Noodler's Colour sample chart

I found a seller on eBay who created his own Noodler's colour sample chart and I asked him permission to post it on FPN. He agreed to it with the caveat that the file remain intact (i.e., his contact information not be removed) and that it not be used by other sellers to sell their own ink. Even if colour accuracy is difficult to obtain on the monitor, especially when a third party cannot calibrate their monitor with a scanned image, I thought it would be helpful to look at the colour differences among Noodler's ink.

Note: I'm not affiliated with the seller and actually haven't even bought anything from him yet as of this posting!

And here is the same chart just rotated so you don't have to tilt either your head or your monitor to read the writing on the side :-)

Thanks, helpful to avoid all the flipping around.

FYI sadly this seller is no longer in central MA and some of his listings might not have his new PA address. Noodler's site listing is also not updated yet. I was looking for a local dealer but looks like I have to go internet. FWIW he communicates well over email.

Seconded. I've bought quite a few bottles of Noodlers from him via ebay, and he's a super seller. Way back when I was just getting my feet wet with ink obsession, I was buying a few bottles from him and also wanted very badly to get a bottle of Aircorp Blue Black... which he didn't have for sale on the site. But I sent him an email with my desire, and he put an auction up just for me... and I got my ink.

I've also gotten some PR carts from him.

Greenman is a real stand up guy and I can't recommend him enough.

Thanks for getting this for us. It's very helpful to have it all on one page.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23)

If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation (Romans 10:9-10)

But these need to be taken with a grain of salt as final color on the paper isn't always the same as what's shown on the monitor.

I find that even the same ink on different paper isn't exactly the same so I use these charts to simply get an idea of what a color is.

Not only that, but sometimes, different ink on different paper looks the same. Or, the same ink, which looks different on different papers, can look the same if you use different nibs.

Exactly  don't expect the color bought to be exactly like the color shown. The Zhivago is a wonderful example of this. Black in most pens but occasionally a green tint shows.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
