Remaindered Moleskine Daily Planners

Last December I bought a Large Moleskine Daily Planner-- one day per page, also useful as a diary, as they say-- and never used the thing. This year, I got the smaller sized one, hoping its portability would encourage me to use it more.

I plan to use last year's as a diary, disregarding the dates on the pages entirely. It has more pages than a regular large lined journal, and also has the address book that could be useful.

Since it's a planner, and pretty date-specific, these things have got to go on remainder somewhere-- or at least on a steep discount. Has anyone ever found them this way? I know Barnes & Noble goes into Clearance mode for such things in January, but I've only seen these at Borders and online. If I could pick up one or two, even with the wrong dates, they would serve me just as well as journals.

(I was going to convert to the Moleskine-style journals by Markings (C.R. Gibson), but have run afoul of the paper that doesn't permit some inks inside. Bulletproof inks seem to work, but more watery ones-- regular Noodler's colors, even Waterman Florida Blue (!) bead on that one. It looks like Moleskine for now. Their paper is unpredictable, but at least accepts the ink.)

Thanks!

I saw them today going for £1 (that's one UK popund, a bit less than USD 2). It was at Books Etc. in Canary Wharf, London. It is a closing down sale though - but the normal Moleskines do not have any . I think they are owned by Borders, who may be a US chain, so there may be some there? Good luck!

Sounds to me like you need to buy a couple coffees for the store managers in your town. ;) I have a friend who manages a B&N, I'll try to ask her next time I hear from her.

Typically, all calendars go on clearance right around Christmas in my neck of the woods. It wouldn't hurt to know where they are carried and keep an eye on things.

Christmas time and the new year sales here in the UK. Or closing down sales are always great to snap up a bargain.

Best wishes.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
