Pilot Gel G2 refills

Does anyone know what other manufacturers pens the Pilot Gel G2 inserts fit? My wife likes the way they write, but not the way the pen looks, she wants something nicer. :)

Thanks,

Adrian,

you're in luck - the G2 refill fits a number of other pens. I know they fit Lamy Safari rollerballs and Rotring Core rollerballs. Pilot also makes a few "higher-end" G2 versions, I think they're the Pro and Limited - see here. I can check a few others later today, but hopefully others will chime in.

Best,

Jon

Hi Adrian,

I use the Pilot G2 Gel refills in a Waterman Expert II rollerball. It is an elegantly attractive and comfortable pen, if a bit overpriced. As an alternative to the plastic G2 pens, Pilot's Dr. Grip Ltd. is a comfortable, inexpensive, and attractive pen that takes the G2 refills.

Best of luck,

Christian

Adrian,

If you're interested (sorry for the sales pitch), I have a second Waterman Expert II that has been lightly used. It is matte black with silver furniture. It looks new, and I have the original box and paperwork. The pen usually retails around $80. I would like $50 for mine.

Once again, sorry for the sales pitch, but I'm trying to save for a Nassau Green Parker "51"! :puddle:

Take care,

Christian

Any chance of a pic of the Gel G2 Refill? Had all this in my head once but alas I have forgot most of it :headsmack:

Just took the refill out of my Edson rollerball and it has a Schmidt Safety ceramic (?) roller 888 fitted. Bought a box of these once and they write great.

Regards

What do you have to do to make it work in a MB rollerball?

Joel

Please don't encourage me to obtain any more pens. :)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a few new Pilot G2 refills free to anyone in the UK ONLY. I believe that there were 10 in red, black and blue and that they were 0.5 tips.

PM me, but you may not get an answer before tomorrow.

They definitely fit Waterman RBs, without any modifications necessary. I currently use them in my Waterman Hemisphere, Expert and Kultur pens.

Pilot G2 refills also fit Aurora rollerball pens. They do NOT fit Parker or Sheaffer rollerball pens.

Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.

It may be a bit short for a Mont Blanc but this can be solved by extending it at the end.

I have a G2 refill in my Sheaffer Balance rollerball, and it fits alright.

MB roller refills can be shortened (slightly) to work in pens that fit the G2. So, in order to reverse the operation you would have to lengthen the MB refill.

Or just a piece of crumpled tissue/paper.

i've tried putting a short spring at the end of a Montblanc barrel as well and that works too.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
