This is my desk at the moment. Somewhere under this message. The project I'm working on now is an Underwood number 5 typewriter from 1924.

I think you did a beautiful job!

Okay, my desk looks the complete opposite. I'm getting ready to organize CRVs for my 366+ inks in 2016.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

What a beautiful picture & quite evocative of your avatar! Thanks for capturing such a serene, elegant image & sharing with us. I am jealous as I am afraid my own looks more like a rummage sale! (Luckily I cannot take pictures, nor upload if I could, so everyone is spared the jumble of mine.)

Compared to either of mine, at home and work, that's really tidy.

The odd thing is that on the rare occasions when I tidy up, I can't find anything, so I leave as is :D

Grin.

I agree, the tidying up is what messes it all up!

I've been enjoying seeing everyone's creative and/or work spaces. Here are mine, two desks in the office. One is my work side (in spite of the personal stuff on the shelves) and the other is the personal side.

Woo hoo! After 6+ attempts I finally got photos to post!

I was looking through some of the first pages and just thought I would point out that the pens and paper have not changed much, but the computers and especially the monitors have changed a lot.

I am completely envious of that rolltop desk and its little drawers.

I like seeing everyone's work spaces.

I too am a roll top fan. The good news is they've come way down in price. What used to cost thousands can now be found for a couple of hundred dollars in the US.

Tinta - that's a great workspace.

Phentrek - I agree. The $4000 desk that was purchased of the 1990s (but made more than a hundred years before that) can be purchased this year in Las Vegas for $600 - but the economy here stinks.

My room/desk space. I think it's quite neat for a student bedroom.

I recently moved and have a new desk/desk setup. May I proudly present: the Anabelle X 3000

Thanks Amberlea,... but it's only a great space if I clear it off first. :D

I'm not a tidy person but i try to appear organised so my desk always looks minimalist.....

until you open the drawers. I don't like to keep my inks outside do i just have two out for display that i don't use as much.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
