"Even the cat doesn't like the mess. My desk is so messy... "How messy IS it?"

It is SOOO messy you can't see the mess for the mess... It is so messy,

my office has its own mess call. It's favorite dance is "the mess around."

My desk is so messy, the mess had to open a branch mess.

budda bing!

I MAY have posted this before but This thread is now 35 pages and so

I didn't look for it...

I am glad that this thread inspired me to take some pictures of my desk. I just realized that, because I leave for college in about a week, these may be the lasting records of my high school-era workspace.

Here are the pictures: (click on them for higher quality)

The overall area.

The inks and pens! Yay! Also, I bought the sword in the background in Toledo, Spain.

A closeup of the inks. The picture in the background is one I took in Budapest overlooking the Danube and their parliament building.

My beloved bamboo. It outgrew its original container, so I decided to put it in an Erlenmeyer flask I had laying around. My brother's desk is in the background.

Some of my favorite books, plus my Field Notes calendar!

As if the bamboo wasn't nerdy enough, I have a radian clock. Also, notice Don Quixote and Sancho Panza there too!

Ok, here it goes ...

This is my working desk (one of them) - the left one, in a usual state. I'd rather have messy desk than mess in my head. And of course, this is perfect excuse not to clean it regularly. I didn't have the courage to take pics of the other. It is incarnated chaos. You could find almost everything, except a dead mouse, fresh eggs, ice skates, ...

This is the same desk, as clean as possible. :happyberet:

Indeed it is, to be more precise, it is THAT certain pen, I showed you some time ago and you were sure I had P51. :glare:

Thnx to FPN, you have realized your mistake.

(Yes, we do know each other in person. And it is his "fault" I am here. )

You didnt have to tell this  but in my defence it was only the begining of mine fountain pen days. But on the other hand the great men are not afraid to take responsibility for their mistakes :roflmho:

Why not? You are not perfect and you don't know everything. We learn all the time till we drop dead. Get used to it.

Beside, we are here all friends, right? :bunny01:

Not to mention ... you know that I can't help myself not to ....

BTW, here are some corrections:

defence -> defense

begining -> beginning

.... because you are my friend.

Sorry, professional deformation

Reading through this thread (not all of it, but over half!) as I sit on my bed, laptop on my lap, made me realize that I don't have a desk. Well, I've got two, but there's no room for either in my apartment, so they're both in storage.

My desk is my backpack combined with any flat horizontal surface. Commonly a table at a restaurant (where I work, generally), the library or my dining area. I carry my daily use fountain pen with me, and the backpack generally contains paper, current books I'm reading, waterbottle, laptop and needed accessories.

If I can remember, I'll try to take a picture at various locations to show my setup and how it changes place to place.

I think a lot of us do this nowadays. That might be an interesting thread unto itself. Show us your "mobile office". Just a thought.

Alright, here's my desk. Yup, those pencil holders are all full of none-fps.

And here's my awesome chair:

And lastly, here are all my notebooks that aren't in my desk or under my bed:

The black thing is my nightstand. It's special.

Wonderful thread. The writing slopes, the pen cases, the contrast between organization and functional disorganization was very fun to see. I loved to see peoples configurations between

analog and digital. It's painful to see how great furniture used to be, but I guess there is something to be said for the spatial economy of modern Scandinavian. Thank to all who posted.

I work at home, and I've two desks. One is for my laptop, the other is for longhand writing (e.g. book, notes, letters). Here's my writing desk.

That looks so wonderfully peaceful. It reminds me a bit of my desk at home which is something of a sanctuary for me. Shoot, I need to post it some time :headsmack: .

Here it is. My whole table is a lightbox so when the Editors and Art Directors approve a pencil sketch I can just put it on the light box and ink it {using a fountain pen of course!}.

I love this thread! It's like legalised snooping - and I love to see the places where other people work and play!

At home I don't have a desk as such, because our cottage is far too tiny to accommodate one. Instead I use half of the dining table, and my husband and I eat dinner every evening surrounded by all my clutter. If we have guests for dinner (thankfully rarely) it's a major job to shift everything onto the floor so that we call sit down to eat.

This is what it looks like at this very moment in time... (since I literally took the photo two minutes ago. Slurp, slurp, let me just take a sip of tea...)

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
