I still can't see the blue in this ink!

Great review!

I have two questions:

1. What, if any, are the differences between this color and Noodler's Tahitian Pearl? The colors look fairly (though not entirely) similar. Any observations on their respective behaviors in certain pens and on certain paper?

2. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where can I get this ink? I know it's an FPN exclusive, but I didn't even know FPN had a store! Is there a link somewhere?

I have this in my Lamy Safari and it works well there, I think. It is a very very dark blue bordering on black in my pen. It makes a nice contrast to the Sapphire Blue in my Capless.

I understand that FPN VG Starry Night Blue is highly saturated. Are there pens in which you wouldn't use it? Are there recommendations for pen maintenance which you would highlight? Thanks so much!

I just asked the same question about HoD, and since i'm looking to get this ink too, i am interested. Is it a pen stainer?

Lots of wants, limited funds!

Same answer for me than with HoD. Never had staining issues with this ink but I never let pen loaded with ink dry :D

Scrap this, I had one staining issue with it! First time I opened the bottle it was filled to the brink and I got both hands stained for a few hours :ltcapd:

Lamy AL-star - 1.1 (Omas Violet)

Nakaya Celluloid Mottishaw F Flex (PR Arabian Rose)

Omas Bologna - M (Noodler's Golden Brown)

Pelikan M620 Grand Place - Binder XF/XXF Flex (Noodler's Navajo Turquoise)

Stipula 22 - 0.9 (Waterman Florida Blue)

Waterman Patrician - M (Waterman Florida Blue)

Mine arrived from FPN last week--must try it soon. Latex gloves will be in order. Thanks for the warning!

VGSNB recently made its debut in flea-land in a Pilot 78G with M nib. A very curious ink indeed. Not blue. Kind of a blue gray. I little bit like stonewashed or faded denim. Writes well in this pen. Not waterproof in strict laboratory testing (sat my sweating glass on writing pad). I like it mucho but it seems a bit somber. Perhaps a good kiss off ink.

Eh Eh don't worry too much it really isn't much of a deal :D Actuall it has become some kind of ritual between that ink and me: every other ink I barely if ever get on my finger, this one seems to be finger licking good :roflmho:

Check with an Admin. Elaine I believe would be a good place to start.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
