There is a new, "King" (of Pen) size Pro Gear available in PMMA with 21K nib. Found it at the Pensgallery/Pengallery shop by accident

I had a chance to handle one of these at the Atlanta Pen Show, err, The Great Southeast Pen Show. A very nice pen! :puddle:

Looks a lot like the Pilot Custom 845

I use a fountain pen because one ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to write a few reasonable words with a fountain pen.

Shape looks similar indeed. A Pilot Custom 845 is finished with black urushi lacquer though, and I assume this one is not. Ruud

Do I have to understand this pen is as big as a KoP, but with the ProGear design (which seems to gradually replace the cigar shape) ? The nib design looks really nice, I wish we could see some macro pics of it :)

BTW, I won't never buy this pen, since the ProGear is just perfect in my hand. Perfect length, perfect diameter, perfect weight, and no need to say it writes like a dream. Happy, I am :cloud9:

I asume the KPG is shorter & thicker than the Pilot 845 and the cigar shape & Ebonite KoP is still available in parallel, the last with and without Urushi for those in need. This is the value alternative so all preferences can be served.

It's on the Pengallery website now. I posted my own thread on this pen before seeing this one.

I prefer this model to the standard KoP, which seems rather too plain looking for my taste. I should point out that the Prof Gear KoP is also available as a rhodium plated trim pen.

I am awaiting a Professional Gear KOP in Broad in mail. I read many positive user reviews and comments and I decided to add it to my pen collection. I will post pictures once I get it in my hand.

I just received this pen and I am impressed with this pen. Mine is a broad nib; but, being a Sailor nib, the line width is closer to Pelikan M. A very buttery smooth nib, to say the least.

The pen is solidly built and the 21K gold nib is big and georgeous. Almost the same size as the 149. The converter is nicely positioned in the solidily built section. I am interested in comparing this pen with the Pilot 845 which I am expecting in a few days.

I have just gotten the demonstrator version with the broad nib, and love the way it writes, it is really just luscious--and I really like the look of the flattened ends, it distinguishes it from the 149 (see my pix of them side-by-side here in this forum). Of course, it was too fat for my case with the leather loops, so I ran to Art Brown for an elastic-band case instead. I would like to compare it to the Pro Gear--I have the Pink Sapporo which is a great color but a tiny bit on the small side.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
