I've just recently been transferred to a new position in Doha, Qatar and I am in desperate need of FP supplies......most of my inks got lost in transit somehow. Is anyone aware of any pen stores in Doha? I'm going to be in a world of hurt when my M800 runs out of ink. My P51 is speaking to me in tounges telling me do do bad/desperate things......

Thanks!

I've only passed through Qatar enroute back home on leave or back to Afghanistan but given the modernity you find there versus some of the other places in that part of the world I am sure you will be able to find supplies. If not you may want to check out Swisher Pens. I know they are doing free shipping to APO and APE addresses so you may be able to get anything you need shipped to you free of charge once you make the purchase. I hope your "51" is a vacumatic as those hold lots of ink and keep on writing long after most pens have quit.

Good luck on your search!!

I have ordered from Swisher Pens several times. Actually, on my last trip home, I made a point to go tothier store (I live about 20 minutes away). I was hoping to find a place locally for emergencies such as this. I've got some replacement supplies on thier way, but I'm getting desperate thoughts of cracking open LOTS of cartridges (I can find them everywhere here) and filling my P51 with thier vital fluids :ltcapd: .

Thread necromancing. Has anyone found a decent pen store in Doha?

I've been to the MB boutiques at Villaggio and Gate Mall, and I know Family Food Centre sells some Parker's and some Hero's and Carrefour sells BIC and Parker cartridges. I think there's a Montegrappa boutique at "The Mall," and Salam sells Visconti and S.T. Dupont. I think there's some Dunhill there and at Villaggio as well.

I'm still looking for decent ink selection, and maybe some other pens (Pilot, Lamy, etc). I'm not happy that the only bottled ink is either MB (at $10 for a small bottle and more for the full-size) or "Dollar" or "Flamingo" brand.

Help?

Hi, I am starting up on my pen collection and currently in Doha. Researching about this new interest brought me into this thread, and into this network.

I discovered last month that WHSmith in Ezdan Mall has Lamy and Pilot Fountain Pens on display. I am planning to buy this Eid.

After posting this response, I went to the said branch of WHSmith, but it was under construction (or ceased operations, I am not sure as of this posting.) However, I recently passed by Virgin Megastore in Doha Festival City and found a wall of LAMY Pens from Safari to exclusive ones. Thought you guys might want to know. Edited by nikitaplmr

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
