I believe I have a vintage 1930s Pilot Falcon nib in the #6 size. Can anyone with more vintage pilot experience confirm? Does anyone have another example of this in a pen?

Congratulations on your acquisition of a rare Pilot nib. Now it needs an appropriate pen.

@stan I have a couple #3 pilot eyedropper/plunger pens but I'm assuming the #6 nib is too big to fit those.  I do have a #6 lever filler as well that I could swap this into.  Would love to find a #6 eyedropper/plunger, that would be my ideal combo.  Or a celluloid #6 lever fill if those exist

Suggest you search Yahoo Japan. You should find a decent celluloid model with a lever. They exist.

First see if the #6 fits in your pens. Sizes changed over time. It might fit.

Your nib shows a line extending from the base. Is that a crack?

Check the date code on the back. It may help narrow down the model you are looking for.

Hi Stan,

I search Yahoo Japan pretty consistently now, that's where I found this nib and where I've found all of my vintage 1930-1960s Pilots.  It's a great site, but deadly for the wallet, haha!

I tried briefly to fit the #6 in one of my #3 plunger pens and it "fits" but seems to be quite tight and not fit as deeply as it needs to on the feed.  It did write and seemed to hold ink ok, but it felt like it wasn't quite the right fit.

There is a small crack from the base, it doesn't extend all the way to the breather whole, just a short way up from the base of the nib.  Chatting with Greg M to have him repair it in a few weeks though.

My date code looks to be 4.32, which I am assuming is April 1932?
