16 critter

Purists may quibble that pigs and wolves, especially anthropomorphic ones, aren't critters. Hoop-de-doo. 🙃🐷🐺

(Clearly not done with the previous prompt. This might have been 'hoop 4: dark hooptimist'. Who that refers to depends who is running things and the role of chance.)

Funny I was imagining a pig in a hoop, with the jaws of the wolf wide open..

@catbert, all the hoop drawings are so much fun!  And @yazeh, that very wonky critter makes me smile, though it doesn't seem to faze Cat and Mouse at all.

Inktober 52, prompt 17: Greasy

Inspired by my grandfather, who used paraffin at night to keep his hair smooth and "greasy" in the morning. This piece is inspired by 1930s movies and animation characters, such as Minnie Mouse and Felix the Cat. The title is an homage to James Cagney and the famous line he never said: "You dirty rat, you!"

Fountain pens used: Pilot Kakuno EF, Hongdian M2 with a fude nib and an Ahab with an FPR flex nib .

I used the gorgeous Jacques Herbin Cacao du Brésil for the sketch and Rouille d'Ancre for the background. Paper: Talens Mixed Media.

That is HILARIOUS!  I love it!

I've needed a good laugh after the past couple of days, which pretty much just sucked -- including my husband having emergency surgery yesterday afternoon :(; I have to pack up some clothes for him, because I don't know how long it will be before he's released.  But at least when I talked to him on the phone about an hour or so ago, he seemed to be in pretty good shape and told me he'd been able to cancel the appointments we had with the eye doctor, which had been scheduled for this afternoon.

But I was just a wreck by last night -- had to go to the bank, then mail a couple of bills, then drive upriver to get allergy shots, then got a call from him asking if I could pick up a friend of ours en route to the hospital (she's a former nurse, so knows the "lingo") and when we finally got to the hospital main part (at first we'd gone back the the ER entrance, which is a completely separate building) he was already in surgery.  Then after we left (around 7:30 PM) we had to find someplace to get food, and then I had to fill up the gas tank and missed the exit I wanted (somehow, I'd ended up in the HOV lane on the highway), and had to double back.  And the gas pump wasn't working right for some reason and then I had to drive her home -- my husband thought that she should just borrow the minivan but I figured that she was having enough trouble driving some big honking SUV rental because her car was in the shop.  So by the time I got home, it was after 10 PM....  And I still had to get the trash together to put out on the curb, and bring in the mail, and also grab my journal because I'd left it in the car....

And now, today?  Have to get clean clothes together for my husband AND attempt to do both yesterday's NaPoWriMo AND today's....  And I think we're supposed to have storms this afternoon and evening; and I'm seriously considering bailing on choir rehearsal tonight anyway, because my sinuses have been going cattywampus ALREADY....

NOW who is on a roll?! 👏👍

I neglected to say how much I admired K-Drama crash from your Ban Mi Macaron Rose review:

Great story-telling, and superb colour work as ever.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
