Woodex 54 and 44

These two pens are pens of very different sizes from woodex. The model 54 is a more recent offering from woodex. They offer quite a number of models with 3 in 1 filling. This is one such jumbo pen and comes in a unique maroon and teal ebonite pattern. The cap and barrel are of the same width and it's a clipless model. It's equipped with a jowo threaded kanwrite medium nib and a Schmidt converter. 

 

The model #44 is a regular pen with a green and black pattern. The green ebonite has some inclusions and black dots which was shared upfront by woodex. This has an ed filling mechanism and it comes with a standard ebonite feeder and a 35mm kanwrite broad nib. The grip is black in color and is shorter than compared to model 4.

Impressions

 

The pens are very well made as expected from woodex over years. The polishing on 54 is great. Very interestingly even the portion below the grip section threads are polished. This is the attention to details that you come to expect  from woodex. The cap is thicker than usually to accommodate the step down and the concave grip section is exceptionally well made. 

 

The #44 has inclusions on the barrel which was shared upfront and even in spite of that I like the color. The small finials in the top and bottom are very well made. The barrel has a thicker wall since this pen is an eye dropper. The nib is tight set and not removable. 

 

Writing.

Both nibs wrote perfectly out of the box and absolutely perfect. The 44 is really wet and the 54 is moderately wet considering the plastic feed. Overall standard, functional and pleasant. 

 

Pricing

 

pricing is great. The 54 is priced at 3200 rs which is great considering 3 in 1 filling. 

 

The 44 is prices at 1900 rs which again is great. 

 

Overall woodex is one of the most affordable pen companies around. They don't compromise on quality and their pens are made with a lot of care and attention to details.

The section for 54, similar in design to the 63? is sooooo comfortable. The section seems to be long enough that the step down does not bother.
