I have been getting back into pens the past few months and researching lots of old and new MB models. A friend showed me his "Rouge Et Noir" and that led me down a rabbit hole of "internet research". There are so many models of this pen it was astonishing to me. I think I captured most model numbers and names.

 

- If anyone is familiar with these pens would you mind reviewing the list and letting me know if I missed anything.

- Are there any differences between the older (MB114721, MB114722, MB114723, MB114724) and newer (MB132107, MB132108, MB132109, MB132110) black resin models?

I thought they were a different edition but I guess they are technically the same.

Is the Wes Anderson version considered part of the collection even though it does not have "Rouge and Noir" in the name?

I did not even know some came "without" ruby eyes.

Yes, the initial release didnt have ruby eyes.

I thought that only the limited edition in gold trim came with ruby eyes, but i recently saw a silver trim with them.

It appears both the original and current "black resin" versions do not have stones in the snake eyes.

 

I updated the chart to reflect trim colors.

I also updated the chart to reflect the snake eye colors with these markers:

- No Stones (is a snake but without stones in the eyes)

- Ruby or Green snake eyes

- N/A (model did not come with a snake on the cap)

I may have missed it on your list but there is a REN marble with a snake with ruby eyes. Its gold trim if that helps narrow it down. I might still have the box for the reference number.

What is a "REN marble with a snake with ruby eyes"?

Yes, it came in a big box with the red marbled notebook and a slightly useless leather document holder (at least, I think that's what it is meant to be). I havent had a chance to dig out the box, but I'll post the serial number when I find it.

Yes, with the gold trim and grip. Oddly that listing  also shows pictures of a silver trim with green eyes!

 

Does anyone know the purpose of tge leather zippedcase and how it is meant to be used?

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
