I had forgotten about those nibs. I believe Waverly had similar nibs. Lovely images and photos.

Yeah Waverly is a dream I hope to get one day

Thanks!

Yes, most are.  PenBBS appear to use a different type of shimmer.  I think Colorverse do as well.

If I may ask, are Colorverse as wet as De Atramentis? I plan to get some of their inks but if they are that wet I might reconsider getting a lot... Also was wondering the same about Robert Oster, KWZ, Rohrer and Klinger and recently here at FPN I was recommended Leonardo Officiano Italia, if you know anything about these - I'll be grateful for any info! For example, Pelikan nowadays seems to be as dry as it was two decades ago when I used it for the last time, I'd prefer to avoid dry inks as well.

Hope I spelt all the names correctly

It varies by ink.  I've had very wet and very dry inks from Colorverse.  De Atramentis are the only manufacturer I can think of who seem to go out of their way to make every ink quite wet.  For everyone else, it varies by ink (which is what I would expect - chemistry and all :) ).

Robert Oster

Blues and greens tend to be wet.  Yellows and reds dry.  Other colors vary.

Both underrated.  Flow will vary by the ink.

The spreadsheet from @InesF's thread is the best source for ink flow (work back from the last page, looking for a link to a google sheet for the most recent data):

And second best is An Ink Guy on YouTube.

Haven't used even one of their inks, so no idea.

P.S.:

I'll list here other inks I own and love and use often and plan to review, if someone's interested in any of these - please let me know so I'll choose them first:

I for one would love to see closeups of Doyou and Syun-gyo side by side from the same pen.

Yeah I always expect different colours to be different in wetness but after De Atramentis decided to better ask

With chemistry actually one can tweak all the inks to feel the same no matter what but am aware 'tis a tedious thing so totally understandable why it is rarely done!

And the link to that thread is very helpful, I'll examine it ASAP. So far ordered two Robert Oster's, one KWZ, R&K iron gall, some others inks I can't recall and a bunch of Noodler's (seems I can never go wrong with his inks, incredible). Found a lot of other interesting brands from all over the world but am so picky when it comes to colours I write with so I have to think more than twice before ordering anything.

I haven't used Doyou for months, thank you for reminding me about it. Are you interested in any particular nib sizes? Finer, broader, dip nibs?

Most useful would be from the same average-flowing fountain pen. I have seen swatches and dip pen writing side by side but never normal fountain pen conditions. Doyou is one of my favorites, but it's difficult to photograph the color undertones in such a dark ink. I think of Syun-gyo and Doyou as maybe dark and much darker purple.

I will try to find some of my old notes made with bigger nibs and will ink up something with a regular Jowo <M> then. Actually Syun-Gyo isn't that dark, Doyou is a lot darker. The closest to it I have is ONLINE Cedar Wood which is very dark cool purple (almost black) and Pierre Cardin Logos Black if both used in <B> nibs.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
