Red Pen Club- Show Me Your Red Pens!

boilermaker,

I have to laugh simply because I still cannot believe how "perfect" the Beiluner is.  I now have both the Blue and the Red on the desk next to me, and I'll occasionally take one and scribble the word "test" on the pad of paper ...... every time, each pen works perfectly.

And for the record:  both are FINE nib.

The only "problem:"  installing the provided ink cartridge.  You really have to shove hard on the cartridge, turning and twisting and working at it, then finally/hopefully/eventually it will click into position.  Laughingly, you almost need a hammer !!

THEN, more laughing:  the cartridge wall is "very" thick and I cannot squeeze it with my fingertips to get ink flowing.  I have to use a pair of pliers to do a tiny squeeze on the cartridge to get the ink flowing.

THEN, once the ink gets flowing and the pen begins writing:   zero "problem" after that.  All part of the fun.

SO, THE SOLUTION:  just use the converter, it installs quite easily.  And doesn't need to be squeezed.  I will definitely be using the converter when the cartridge empties.

(oh, both of my pens had a converter included in the sale)

I am very very happy and pleased with these two Beiluners.

Cheers,

That’s quite a bit of red in your collection, @Pen Ffynnon! We’re pen twins, as I also have a 144R.  I like that you have so many different shades of red represented. The M800 is very regal.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 30 currently inked pens:

Parker Duofold Centennial IM, RO Rose Gold Antiqua

Parker Duofold Lady needlepoint, MB Cool Grey

MontBlanc 1441 F, Monteverde Brown Sugar

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Waterman 52 EF, Herbin Bleu Pervenche

I was kind of surprised how many red pens there were. I guess it shouldn't have been too startling since one of my favorite colors is red's second-cousin-twice-removed, orange.

@Pen Ffynnon we are pen twins times 3 or 4 as I have the same Pelikan Twist, Lamy, and the Kaweco pens. The one I’m unsure about is by the Safari.

On the left of the Safari is a Pelikan M205 Star Ruby (I put Ruby Red) and to its right is the new (new-ish?) Kaweco Ruby Red. It's not so much ruby to me as it is raspberry (as is the matching ink) and that's a color I love.

Annnnnd.....pen twins!  👭

ETA: Corrected the Pelikan up above.

Then we have 3 in common. I thought my AL Sport was ruby red. It looks like the one in your bottom photo on the right.

...Pelikan Souveran M800...

Isn't that pen an M600 in 'Red Tortoiseshell' from 2020?

An M800 would be slightly larger than your red Safari.

And, as my wallet insists, I am totally not Coveting it! ;)

Oh, it may well be. My pen inventory is partially from what I had hand-written from before. I've got two other stripy Pelikans--white and green and then green and black. I will have to pull them out of whatever pen rolls they're in and do a contrast and compare. :D
