Yes, the body & cap are metal.   Body size is reasonable so the weight is not too heavy.  Remove the cap and put it onto the back end ...... nice balance, great feel when writing, not overbalanced by the cap weight.

Here's a re-post (from the other blue thread 😄) of a beaut I got recently, which seemingly went unnoticed 🙁:

large.201844.jpg.96fae211f3e87ad96715dcc4e3b9d02b.jpg

Caran d'Ache Léman Bleu Marin! 😍  It's currently inked with J. Herbin Rue de la Verrerie.

(I think Iroshizuku Tsutsuji would make a perfect match, but I'm too ashamed to admit it)

Oh, that’s a looker, @lamarax! What a cool design! What does that finish feel like?

I need to update my blue pen portraits for this thread, but I might as well wait for the ones in the mail to arrive before I start.

It's "repoussé" (i.e. rough to the touch), albeit being covered with a thin lacquer layer. This is a departure from the rest of the "guilloche" Léman models, which are completely smoothed out by lacquering.

If I had to pick one, it would be the Waterman's Patrician, followed closely by the Montblanc Blue Hour.

I like that Montegrappa Espressione very much indeed!   *sigh*

I wish I had ordered this one instead of the Klein Blue model. The texture on this one is beautiful.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

That’s precisely why I thought to ask, because it looks different from the other Lémans that I have seen. That sounds so cool!  *adds to ever growing list*

I was lusting after a Lamy Studio (especially that color). Until I went to the Lamy SoHo store in NYC at Christmastime and tried one, and it was just too heavy a pen for me....  :wallbash:

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I keep waffling on whether I want that particular Studio. It’s really pretty, @PennyTheDog!

I finally bought the Diplomat Viper, my monochrome blue micro collection is slowly increasing!

(the Black IM monochrome is parted out in the background, as that arrived at the same time as the Viper)

You’re right, it is very heavy; it’s probably my heaviest pen. I don’t mind it though: it just feels like part of its character. It’s my favorite fountain pen for drawing.

I like it quite a bit! The nib is great. Like Ruth said, it is quite heavy.

I think the Imperial Blue Lamy Studio is gorgeous. I gave my brother one.

Just arrived today, a Romet Emperor in Ocean Gold. A previous owner--maybe the seller, I don't know--replaced the steel nib with a Bexley 14K M.

What a pretty swirl! I like Bexley nibs as well, excellent upgrade!

I’m inking it tonight, and will let you know if it writes as nicely as it looks.
