:D  Noobs!  We were all newbies once.  There are a lot of newbies on reddit, so everyone tries to be extra kind.  The fun part is when someone is just sure there's something wrong with their pen and you walk them through it and they're shocked! shocked, I say!  that this is a desirable feature.

👍🏻 When I first joined FPN, I didn't know what Noodler's ink was, only Sheaffer and Quink and Herbin.  No one yelled at me.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

:) You're very welcome!

I haven't experienced clogging with any of the "Classic" inks - not that I recall, anyway.  Platinum inks I've reviewed:

Don't forget, we have an excellent index of ink reviews, where you can easily find all the posted reviews on Platinum inks together. :)

Yes, the "Classic .. Black" line are all modern iron gall.

My understanding is that iron gall inks aren't the sort you want sitting around idle - due to oxidation and acidity.  No idea how much of a concern this is with the Platinum Classic line (and using a Preppy to find out doesn't seem like much of a risk - certainly their excellent seal will lower it).  Best wishes if you do decide to try these inks!

Thank you Liz, very helpful, and, interesting.

:)  Yes, I'd say we're extra kind here, too.

Thank you for this review. The Platinum Classic Black inks are my go-to more-or-less permanent inks. Great for use in the EDC pens I take to work.  i like this Citrus Black a lot, one of my favourite colours from this ink series. It writes a bit light, but darkens up nicely.

Never had any issues with these inks. On the other hand - they never stay long in the pen. I mainly use Kaweco Liliput & Sport EDC pens with small syringe-filled cartridges. So the ink is used up fairly quickly (in a week or so).

And it does so fast enough that you don't get bored watching it happen. :D
