Does anyone here use Lamy Compatible inks?

I've began to use these cartridges and are very happy with the results......

They come in multiple colours, so far I've used Red, Blue, Black and Green and not only do they work in Lamy pens they also work as a standard cartridge for standard fountain pens.

With so many colours in the Online compatible cartridges you don't have to refill empty ones with your shade of ink that you like. An option when traveling .

I do - usually not in Lamys tho 😉 as I don't have that many Lamy FPs, but lots of Lamy cartridges.

Apart from the colors you already tried, may I suggest:

- ONLINE Turquoise: which is less blueish than Lamy's turquoise

- ONLINE Brown: since brown is strangely absent from Lamy cartridge ink

- ONLINE Golden Yellow: with shimmer! afaik the only (explicit) shimmer ink that comes in cartridges; twice as expensive as regular ONLINE cartridges tho

I use all manner of inks, all colors, all brands, in my Lamy pens. Never bothered to check for compatibility. They're just pens. Just inks.

I ride a recumbent, I play go, I use Macintosh so of course I use a fountain pen.

Monteverde used to make similar double- ended carts in colorw like neon orange, burgundy, brown.  I still have some.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Right now I've got Diamine Scribble Purple in the French Blue Safari.

Those are interesting, never seen those before.

thanks for sharing 🙂

I tend to use converters as there's less plastics waste.  I've used a variety of brands, as long as it's fountain pen ink, and never had a problem, although the Herbin inks with silver or gold bits in take some flushing 😁

Online (German brand) works fine. I use them for my workpen. For home I recommend Herbin (French brand) inks. Bottled. Refill old Lamy or Online cartridges or use a converter. Herbin has a nice variety of colors. Diamine, for you a a British resident, also work well. They too offer nice colors.

But the sky will always come to me.™

I've just tried out an Online violet cartridge in my Safari.  I was able to install it by twisting the barrel shut to puncture the seal, just like a genuine Lamy cartridge.  Online's violet is a bit lighter and leans a bit redder than Lamy's violet, though the lightness could be due to the fact the new Safari loaded with the Online cart is a somewhat dry writer.

For any fountain pen, any fountain pen ink should be compatible.

Ergo, a Lamy fountain pen should take any fountain pen ink.

Of course, there may be the odd FP ink that requires high maintenance, but still, if the "high" maintenance (not allowed to dry, proper flushing after using) is done, no problem should arise.

All the rest is common to any FP: do not mix acidic with basic inks to avoid salt precipitates, etc...

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

I'm interpreting the OP's request as asking for thoughts on alternative brands of ink cartridges that are compatible with Lamy pens, other than Lamy's own offerings.

Online specifically markets their cartridges as compatible with Lamy pens, so it's a good bet they're safe to use.

There are anecdotal reports that some Lamy pens (specifically the Safari) will accept Parker Quink carts, though the opening on the Parker carts are slightly larger than that of Lamy.

I use "standard" international cartridges on the CP.1 and the Lamy Joy. Haven't had a problem with any of them till now. And I even have a long cartridge on the Lamy Joy currently.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

I'm very happy with these Online compatible cartridges and will be continuing to use them in both Lamy and standard fountain pens.
